did anybody catch how this song coincides with the first one to create an emotion? devour ends and goes right into this song. with a smash and the heart rate jumps up. ensues. in devour they reject the person who put themself out there. this song reminds me of everytime my ex would refuse to converse with me and slam a door in my face and id spend hours screaming and crying at his door. abusive at best on both parts.

i think reflection means not able to sit and think about,instead of a reflection in the mirror.
its like someone has to make a quick decision with no time to weigh the consequences.

its supposed to cut off at the end like that...listen to it on the album. it then goes into pretty as a $. the person made him stop loving them...and now he can see the truth about them. those 2 songs are connected. its done very artistically and its beautiful.

submit to the things you cant let go of. a break up? your demons? whatever. this song just makse me thinkof my dead relationship with my ex, he was abusive and him and i used to fight like cats and dogs. i used to write in a journal to remember what happened, because i forgave him, even after he would strangle me or worse. i was always afraid he would kill me.

this band's music has saved my life most definately. i went thru a bad break up and it every song helped h eal my soul. So to me a lot of Ours's songs are about the turmoil a person goes thru during a break up...not the act of the break up but the pain and awakening you feel after it. Alot of their songs though seem to be about the turmoil you go thru as you are awakening. Being born is painful.
This song in particular is kinda about being able to put the past away and realize that everything is ok.
i dont understand why it is called "meet me in the tower" when they are talking about burying them in the ground. i guess the symbolism has evaded me. |
