Great song. There's stuff here everyone can relate too. "baby it's the beer that's smiling - it ain't me; so point me at that door 'cause of I've been trying to leave." for example. The song sound more about feeling trapped or stuck in one situation - "tripped into a hole I dug every word", "and I couldn't dream of leaving while you're feeling down" exemplify a feeling of being trapped - and feeling hopeless. This is my favorite tune off the split and in my opinion puts some Bright Eyes songs to shame by being this direct and brief and really just knocking the listener out with blunt, honest lyrics. |
