I agree. The feeling of being stepped on is something we can all relate to and as those who have been stepped on can take personal satisfaction from knowing that those who derive satisfaction from the pain of those they step on are truly more pathetic than we (the sufferers) can ever imagine. |

To me... personally, this song is not only about regret but about loss, pain, remorse and forgiveness but at the same time feeling detachment from those feelings. When you do have those feelings you have to ask (and remind yourself) that if you do feel as every other human being feels when faced with the fact that you feel deeply scarred, that you are just as much untouchable as anyone else who has felt the same thing as you have. Even though you are hurt... cut down... and maybe even as vulnerable as everyone else, you rise above -EVERYONE- else who DOESN'T know what you feel now because you -HAVE- in fact been hurt and now not only are you a better person for having come to touch with your soul but at the same time broken away from yourself in a way you never thought possible. |

Damn this is an excellent song. Can't believe it hasn't been commented on yet. Awesome rhythm and sound. It's cool to have a story in a song and Zeppelin is awesome for that. Even if not a story, for painting an excellent picture in your mind. The story/picture of this song is great. Sucks he still ends up getting hung anyway. Still adds to the song though. Excellent, plain and simple. |

Kind'a funny, I bought the album when it came out and I liked this song but now it feels like it has a meaning. My fiance and I broke up recently and we talked about it and I thought I had my closure. Well... as it turns out, after she broke up with me she broke up her best friend's relationship and her best friend and I came to find out. She started fooling aroud with guy almost immediately after our breakup. They the proceeded to push the two of us away and her best friend actually talked and are now GREAT friends. When this fails for them (and it will) they won't have anyone to fall back on because everyone is livid with them for doing this and they'll have no one to blame but themselves. Funny how life works isn't it? |

The most beautiful and chilling Rammstein song off of any album. I do agree with Shaftman on it's meaning and it makes it all the more haunting every time you listen to it. I let my fiance listen to this song and she fell in love with it immediately. Makes it all the more chilling since her and I broke up recently and the lyrics ring all the more chilling now with every listen. |

Sounds alot like my relationship that just ended not to long ago. My fiance was a great girl but she was willing to talk about anything and it would almost always end in how one of my problems had to span into her world and they were never just my problems. She had to drag something from her life into it and change into something about her. So everytime I had a problem it turned into helping her somehow and nothing ever got accomplished. So eventually we both just kind'a closed off and it killed everything we had. |
