State Radio – Keepsake Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is sung from an old man's perspective. It's not entirely about suicide but more like assisted-suicide. He is talking about his old age and a sickness he has that is killing him and will bring his family back together.

"Im gonna put my family back together again"

His need for assistance as he dies will bring the different members of his family together to help him in the different ways they do...

"One gonna help me talk right, one gonna lay me down to sleep"

In the end they help him write a note or sign his will, whatever it may be. And shut the door and leave him to end it all.

"One gonna buckle my belt around the ceiling pipe/
One gonna buckle my knees and One gonna lock em up tight/
One gonna hold a pen while you drag my arm across the page/
One gonna hold my memories another gonna close the door"

Frightened Rabbit – The Modern Leper Lyrics 17 years ago
To me this song is about addiction... and a woman who loves a man that is addicted to some sort of drug(s): "You see I've got this disease I can't shake/ And I'm just rattling through life." and the woman keeps trying to save the man: "Coming back for even more of exactly the same."

The end is a hope for a new beginning: "Just you and me/ We'll start again" and get over the disease thats been destroying him.

I love the imagery of this song... absolutely engaging! You can't help but stomp your feet and clap your hands and just shout it out!

Frightened Rabbit – Head Rolls Off Lyrics 17 years ago
I think you can hear what you want but I think the lines, "I believe in a house in the clouds, and God's got his dead friends round" go against the concept of agnosticism. But that's not even the true focus of the song...

The idea and the hope is that while we are here, while we're alive, we can have a positive effect on the earth and on the whole of existence.

Frightened Rabbit – Old Old Fashioned Lyrics 17 years ago
This is clearly a longing for a simpler time... a sort of eulogy to the past, realizing that its gone but wanting to recreate it somehow.

New technology and a fast-paced society can get overwhelming and at some point you just want to say enough is enough and get "Old, Old Fashioned." Great Song!
