| Great Big Sea – How Did We Get From Saying ‘i Love You’... Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Hehe, I used to listen to this song during my last break up, to wallow in self pity. Brought me to tears a few times. | |

Just thought i should jump on here and mention, that Dexter (singer and guitarist for The Offspring) Has mentioned that this song is about school shootings. So sorry to all those out there who hear it as a song about the war (although you are allowed you're own interpretations, it just isn't what the writer/s wrote it about). I should also bring up the point: "though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me" Is from the Psalm or some such, which helps to prove the line 'And I'm just doing what I'm told!' is about the boy believing he is doing what god told him to do. |

| I reckon this song is about paranoia, caused by not conforming. As in, he thinks people are after HIM because he doesn't conform to their standards. | |

| As everyone else has stated, this song describes perfectly the awkwardness that appears when you meet someone that you were once so close to. How every single thing they told you about themselves comes back to you all at once, and how there is nothing to say, because they already know it or it's just so weird realising that everything is different. | |
