I think it's about two people who knew each other, friends, from long ago. One thought the other was a buddy, but the other was in love. They parted ways, and the lovestruck person continued to think and dream of this person, and the day they'd meet again. The other, on the opposite hand, forgot about them soon after leaving. When they saw each other again, the one in love rushed forward with memories and chatter, when the other had no memory of the lovesick friend at all. Even after that heartbreaking meeting, she can't stop thinking of him, and continues to hope that one day, he'll remember her and the love they almost shared. |

I think the character in this song is a child, who had just lost someone close to them. In their grief and confusion, they resort to keeping all to them self. Thus, also creating things to distract them within their own mind. They put on a smile and act relatively normal, when inside their being torn apart. The barrier of their mind gets worn away towards the end, and they face the chilling truth...if not all the way, partially.

She was the burden of a relationship, and she was well aware. Her boyfriend didn't care about her, but she loved him.The character in this song is extremely weak, and nowhere near over her past lover. She lets him step all over her, using excuses to make it acceptable.
