System of a Down – Aerials Lyrics 15 years ago
Here's my interpretation of this song (Note, I'm not religious at all, but this song clearly is)...

Life is a waterfall,
We're one in the river,
And one again after the fall.
--------------------------------
What this is saying is that the idea "self" only exists while you're alive, before and after that, "we" exist as one. It's likened to a waterfall, because a a river is one single body of water, that gets broken into many tiny droplets in a waterfall, but comes back together as a single body of water after it. It's comparing life to the droplets of water that only exist (as separate from the river) in the waterfall.
-------------------------------

Swimming through the void
We hear the word,
We lost ourselves,
But we find it all?
--------------------------------
"Swimming through the void" is talking about when "you" no longer exist as a separate thing, but are part of the "river" as a whole again. "We hear the word" is talking about the word of "god". The last two lines are saying again that there is no "you" (as an individual) anymore but the "river", hearing the voice of "god" (as mentioned before), has infinite knowledge.
--------------------------------

Cause we are the ones that want to play,
Always want to go,
But you never want to stay,
--------------------------------
This seems to be an attempt to explain why life continues (i.e., why the "river" wouldn't just stay completely together all the time). It sounds like it's from the perspective of the "river".
--------------------------------

And we are the ones that want to chose,
Always want to play,
But you never want to lose.
--------------------------------
This seems to be an attempt to explain why we strive to preserve and prolong "life" and our fear of death. It sounds like it's from the perspective of the "droplet".
--------------------------------

Aerials, in the sky,
When you lose small mind,
You free your life.
--------------------------------
I think this is trying to say you will be able to enjoy your time alive more if you open your mind and accept to terms with a magical man in the sky (sorry, like I said before, I'm not religious :P) as "the word".
--------------------------------

Life is a waterfall,
We drink from the river,
Then we turn around and put up our walls.
--------------------------------
I think this is just re-iterating our desire (while alive) to remain individuals.
--------------------------------

Aerials, so up high,
When you free your eyes,
Eternal prize.
--------------------------------
This seems to me like it's saying if you're able to make the magical man happy enough while you're an alive (i,e,. an individual), you get into heaven (and possibly retain your sense of self?).

considering the fact that the album was released September 4, 2001 and the songs were written, recorded, and mastered long before that... I think it's highly doubtful this has ANYTHING to do with the 9/11 attack.

I agree with you with pretty much everything, except about "We don't need to nullfiy/No need to nullify". To me, this seems to be saying that we don't need to eliminate sex, because we have very effective forms of contraception. Either that or it means we don't have to kill people (e.g., capital punishment).

System of a Down – Jet Pilot Lyrics 15 years ago
To me, this seems to literally be about jet pilots in the USAF.

"My horse, is a shackled old man,
His, his remorse, was that he couldn't survey,
The skies, right before,
Right before they went gray,
My horse and my remorse,
Flying over a great bay"

Here I think "horse" is a reference to the pilots physical body, because you generally need to be quite old to be in the Air Force (28+). I think the remorse right before "the sky grey" is talking about a steep vertical climb causing a greyout and then regretting it because his vision is now temporary impaired and he know exactly what he's flying into (if anything).

"Wired were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot,
One that smiled when he flew over the bay,"

I think this is talking about coming out of the greyout and quickly gathering all the necessary visual information and smiling while they realize they aren't in danger.

"My, source, is the source of all creation,
Her, discourse, is that we all don't survey
The skies, right before,
Right before they go gray,"
I think the first line is a reference to the morality of the pilot. In the second line, I think "her, discourse" is talking about the nature of aerial combat. So it's talking about because of the nature of aerial combat, you can't always know what is exactly where and you might have to pull off a maneuver that would cause a greyout. The rest is as mentioned above.

never mind, the song transitioned so seamlessly into the track "Demon Days" I didn't notice they were separate.

Local H – Bound For The Floor Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this song is about the average persons struggle with the mental dichotomy of success.
Deep down, they know they are just basically disposable drones, and have learned to accept that as perfectly alright. At the same time, they do things like suck up to their employers, work harder than they need to, and display confidence in a hope that they'll be able to become a huge success. The song is saying how pathetic it is to have this dichotomy.
