This song is partly about the pitfalls of fame. You have to remember this song was on the next album after they hit the big time. He's trying to convince the girl he's interested in not to exclude him because of his noteriety or the fact he admits that drugs ruined his previous relationship on the last album. He wants her to open her eyes and accept him for who he is now. |

This song makes me cry.
It's definitely about a parent being treated badly and the kid can't do anything to make it better. The song epitomises the lack of influence they have on the relationship but still have to pick up the pieces at the end. |
