Wrineha2 is correct...it is "Sirens" according to White Ladder's CD booklet. To me, this song is about all the problems in a relationship, financially, but also with a relationship (Propping mountains up, On matchsticks), and the temporary solutions. The night can hide these problems, but it's temporary. Then again, if you want a creative spin on it, it's about two lovers who are also murders that are wanted, and who spend their nights running from cops, listening for sirens, and hiding bodies. And they're running out of money to live on, so they might have to turn themselves in because they're starting to realize that they can't live in hiding forever. Of course, that's just my over-active imagination talking... |
