Midtown – Give it Up Lyrics 16 years ago
I feel like this song isn't about a relationship with a woman necessarily, I feel like it's more about an addiction of some sort. Whether that’s an addiction to a substance or a relationship, etc. I feel like it's talking about trying to kick a habit that keeps coming back again and again. He says, "Don’t fall for the same things" basically telling himself that he needs to get rid of this addiction before it kills him. He also talks about "wandering the streets, looking for a place to die", this could easily reference the fact that he is at the lowest point in his life and the addiction could claim his life. I also feel like he is almost “talking” to the addiction as if it were a person, saying, “I’m not what your waiting for” (possibly meaning that he isn’t ready to die and he wants to fight the addiction).

But anyways, I love this song, and it could mean many different things, but this is my interpretation.
