I think Geezer's talking about a guy or maybe himself whos fed up with, the average person's prespective about how life should be spent.Like when he says "I wanna reach out and touch the sky." It's kinda like saying I wanna do something more than the same bulshit everbody else is doing then when he say "I wanna touch the sun but I don't need to fly."He saying I wanna do something more but not the same something more as other people even the ones who think thier diffirent.When he says "I'm gonna climb up ev'ry mountain on the moon,And find the dish that ran away with the spoon."He saying Im gonna reach the pinnacle of music,life.etc and show you things that you never thought real.When he say "I've crossed the oceans, turned every bend,I found the plastic at the golden rainbow's end." He saying that he seen everything average life has and all it gives you in the end and it's worthless "Plastic".In the next two lines he says "I've been through magic and through life's reality,I've lived a thousand years, they never bothered me."Magic represents all we want and life's reality represents what we have it seems that, these things in life always conflit with each other.But he saying that he's lived a long time and never has, these two thing bothered him.Then he say "Got no religion; don't need no friends,Got all I want and I don't need to pretend."First off I just wanna say the last four lines in this song are like godly, and are really meaningful.He saying he has no faith he can deal with everything whithout, needing anyone's help or a someone to blame when things get bad.The he say don't need no friends stating again he needs no help, no shoulder to cry on no one to make him feel like he's not a waste of space.Then he say he has all he want and he dosen't need to pretend. Which is like saying I have not even half the things you say I need to be happy with yet I'm happy, and all you can do is pretened to be with your belifs and companians.In the last verse isn't read instead of reach when he says" Don't try to read me 'cos I'll tear up your mind."Like trying to read someones mind he saying you look at me and see I 'm so diffrent so you try to figure me out the same way you do everybody else, but you can't I'm not like eveyone else,either way read or reach it would mean the same thing.Finally he says "I've seen the future and I've left it behind."He saying I've seen what th world has left bring agian musicaly or lifewise and frankly, it still can't top my badassness. |
