Natalia Kills – Wonderland Lyrics 14 years ago
Well, essentially, coinciding with the video, the song seems to be talking about sex. But really I think it's telling little girls to take heed to this "LOVE"; that's it's "NOTHING", "WHO NEEDS LOVE?", "ITS ALL LIES", "NOBODY WARNED YOU", etc. but laced with fairytale themes which is ironic.

Lady GaGa – Scheiße Lyrics 14 years ago
@InfidelityWeTrust, don't dwell on it too much. The language is literally gibberish, you would need a German speaker, a Spanish translator, a French linguist and Nicki Minaj's Martha to make a quarter of little sense.

Lady GaGa – Scheiße Lyrics 14 years ago
@Elzbieta , It seems as though you were critiquing her language instead of enjoying/giving your opinion of the artist’s actual music or message. You already started off personal bias with your comments without even looking at it conceptually and artistically. And like a few other people and have I said, it was organically done in Gaga-form: obviously she does not speak German at all which is part of the song but not the full meaning. On Twitter, Gaga said the song came to her while she was nightclubbing in Berlin or something and the song being about a strong feeling of power and “doing bad all by yourself” sifting through the “Shit” on the dance floor. That vigorous feeling cannot be experienced in just tongue but through environment (doesn’t matter which); it just so happens she was experiencing that moment in such a way that almost verbally vomits her euphoria into the music.

@raiseyourvoice, I was mocking the author of that post in my own dramatic fashion, not to say ALL Lady Gaga fans are like me but ALL fans should be considerate and love Lady Gaga through and through like she’s done with you and your “faults.” And it’s ok if you’re still a “Bad Kid” baby ;-)

@Firus, you are not obligated to understand art, especially pop art in this form, it just is! However, you shouldn’t hold individuals down in a box or a specific genre or artistry and should respect it nonetheless. Furthermore, I disagree with you personally about having to look things up for yourself; I love little references and things because that inspires me to all new levels.

Lady GaGa – Scheiße Lyrics 14 years ago
I believe in the beginning she says that, "[She] doesn't speak German..." And my God, everything doesn't have to be absolutely perfect! I can be appreciative of the minuscular trial and errors; she has a French accent because it's her subsequent language as well. If you were a real Little Monster you'd know that and be a "ride or die" fan for Mother Monster because it was not/is not ever easy growing and evolving and making mistakes in a public eye and at such a magnitude as her. She is a very brave women for her work and has/always will fight for us, make sure you remember this shit! The album is sonically a successor from all her other material, lyrical, production and artistry wise. Not only that: it has great messages, you can dance to it, fuck to it, play it in acoustic, ride in the car with it, play it on the fucking piano -- that is how you do a motherfucking album, from now on, THAT IS HOW YOU DO A MOTHERFUCKING ALBUM! PS, you're English grammar is horrid, coming from a fucking English speaker!

Pink – Raise Your Glass Lyrics 15 years ago
ACTUALLY, Pink wrote it for her gay best friend I believe. And maybe inspired a little by all the gay suicides and whatnot. Though, the song itself is pretty ambiguous and be relative to anybody, really.

Also, nice Hova reference lol! "Peggy Sue" is the nickname to her twenty-two caliber pistol.

Reminds me a little bit of a mint reggae version Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody".

KT Tunstall – Fade Like A Shadow Lyrics 15 years ago
I partially disagree with what Wikipedia says about this song:

"The song talks about accepting that a relationship has run its course, with the lovers parting ways."

I think the feeling is one-ended, meaning the other person has already came to this conclusion and the singer is suddenly realizing this, although maybe she still loves them.

The Buggles – Video Killed the Radio Star Lyrics 15 years ago
This single was actually heavily sampled from the 1979's classic "Video Killed the Radio Star" - the very first music video played on MTV (US) - by The Buggles [1]. The Buggles recently performed a cover version of will.i.am & Nicki Minaj's "Check It Out" at a reunion show [2].

Could be about her crashing her car into the person's house, could be about her breaking that person's windows, could be about getting into a accident (with her intent). It's definitely about revenge/homicide, though.

Adam Lambert – Whataya Want From Me Lyrics 16 years ago
I think "Whataya Want From Me" is such a beautiful tune written by P!nk; Adam captures the lyrics amazingly and the sounding quite nicely.

I feel the single is obviously about a complex relationship and the narrator wanting so badly to work it out with their partner for better, so they are asking them, "Whataya want from me?"

Adam Lambert – Aftermath Lyrics 16 years ago
It's about all the trials and errors you encounter in your everyday situations of life accepting yourself and basically saying you have to go through these things with yourself before you can truly see things/people for what/who they are.

I think it's all about not getting over someone (an ex most likely) and wanting to rid yourself of that obviously emotion or "dream" that's there.

Adam Lambert – Pick U Up Lyrics 16 years ago
I would say this is a more theatrical, rock version of Madonna's "Jump!" from her Confessions on the Dancefloor album, though more so finding that relational purpose in life specifically.

Adam Lambert – If I Had You Lyrics 16 years ago
It's a fun, enticing, dance-infused track; would make for a nice pop record. The meaning is pretty self-explanatory (in the title).

Adam Lambert – Broken Open Lyrics 16 years ago
In my general opinion, "Broken Open" is about the sublimity of confiding in others; here the narrator is reassuring himself as the confider.

Lady GaGa – Bad Romance Lyrics 16 years ago
I wouldn't read into the lyrics all that much, since mostly what she is saying are metaphors for horror novel inferences and themes coinciding with "bad" romance ("You and me could write a bad romance"). It seems like she into a lot of S&M with this particular song.

I think it will be a hit! It's being released during Halloween time, it's radio-friendly, it's club/dance-infused, it's chanting/ball-esque and futuristic, it's playful, it's double entendre (which is not to be taking seriously), you can sing along with it (to yourself or your friends), you can have sex to it, you can dance/party to it, it's climaxing, it's just all-around "huggable" in every way.

Missy Elliott – Bad Man (feat. Vybez Cartel & M.I.A.) Lyrics 16 years ago
I think that the song is pretty face value as far its conviction: it is about haters; I find hating to be sadistic in most situations.

By the way (regarding M.I.A.'s verse) "Tim" McVeigh was a terrorist threat and army veteran who bombed and killed over a hundred people in 1995; he was sentenced to death and put to execution in 2001.

Santigold – Say Aha Lyrics 16 years ago
The narrator is referring to hearsay and people talking about you, when they really don't know you.

I'm trying to figure out if this song is about rebellion (retaliate) or about being not contested (ignore), though.

Kelly Clarkson – Impossible Lyrics 17 years ago
In my opinion, I think this is just a declaration of switching up the rules of impossible; rising above every situation, every obstacle in life, and not regretting it. My favorite lines are:

"Can someone tell me why it's so hard taking chances?
You draw the line and think that I won't ask for more
I will stumble and I'll make my own mistakes, yeah
But I won't worry about it anymore
It's impossible"

Ciara – Never Ever Lyrics 17 years ago
I must say that this song is a real grower and so relevant to me right now. I love this person and there is this small chance that they may love me, but there is also that inevitable withdrawal, too. My favorite line is: "And I, I gotta see, that you and me, ain't meant to be", my friends are like "Just give it up, they don't want you, etc." but I'm like, "I just can't give up like that..."

I agree with VeggiexDawg, that is exactly how I interpreted the song as well.

Mariah Carey – Side Effects Lyrics 17 years ago
I think the song is just about letting ppl get the best of you plain and simple but I'll use this analogy:

A male (26) gets a naive minor (16) pregnant and isn't there for the child wholeheartedly and has this minor mentally. But soon the minor sees that behind the thug attitude and front she sees he isn't strong and leaves him......

Solange Knowles – Freedom Lyrics 17 years ago
Maybe she's talking about the music industry, at first she's debating if this is something she wants to do because the industry can be shady and vain; she then decides, yes, this is something she'd like to pursue but in her own right.

Kelis – In The Morning Lyrics 17 years ago
Pharrell (the guy talking to Kelis) is having an affair it appears with his significant other. The woman he is sleeping with would be Kelis (the girl), and she is in denial that he loves her. When she says, "I hope you miss your flight" it means she doesn't want him to leave her and go back to his wife/girlfriend!

Kelis – Ghetto Children Lyrics 17 years ago
Listen to the song, it's not Kelis, it's Marc Dorcey on that verse. He's basically speaking in future tense; "baby boy" means a young man that has not mentally developed into a man yet and still plays childish games.

The Pussycat Dolls – When I Grow Up Lyrics 17 years ago
Half of these lyrics are wrong and so is everyone commenting on song as far as its meaning. Realistically speaking, the lyrics seem a bit personal, Nicole is giving the middle finger to all haters and people who doubted her in the begining! "Who knew that singing songs would get me this far?"

and

"Be careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it
You just might get it, you just might get it, get it? [... I'm famous now]"

The song also could be a little anthem for aspiring singers, actors, etc., who want to be in the industry, to NOT let people get them down and to stride forward: "They [people] used to tell me I was silly, until I popped up on the TV"
