"You mustn't forget what love can see" - Telling herself and her heart not to forget the beauty of love and the happy things it can encapsulate. I don't understand the verses ... but it's an amazing song. |

I heard this song first on Season 4 of Grey's Anatomy - thought it was lovely straight off. As people have said, the meaning seems to be about how no one can understand your pain, and nothing and no one can make it better - but God knows how you feel. "It would be a lie to run away" - You can't escape the pain, you just need to deal with it instead. "Why broken cisterns never could stay filled" Once something is hurt or damaged it never feels filled or whole again. A great song:) |
