Everyone's going on about Christianity & Judaism and all that, but I never looked at this song in a religious way at all. For me I always pictured a couple who had had a rough year (maybe trouble in relationship, illness or something), and it's new years eve ("what you want this year") and talk to each other about how they're going to do things differently this year. It's very sad in a way but has a hint of hope. Such a beautiful song |

| I've never met anyone who didn't love this song. I always pictured a group of laidback teenagers, getting high together, and were happy with themselves & what they do "we believe in the sum of ourselves" and generally don't give a shit about what anyone else thinks. | |
