Nightwish – Bye Bye Beautiful Lyrics 17 years ago
This is the ultimate Fuck You to Tarja leaving the band.

The end.. No other explanation needed.

Maybe you have something with that about Josh Eppard.. Claudio also stated in the interviews on the dvd that he wrote that song while the band was broken up after Eppard and Todd Left.

I don't know about the whole Heroin thing.. maybe its a cryptic reference but its certainly not an "obvious reference"

Whatever its about, its certainly the climax.

When Claudio finally fully matures and accepts his role as the ender of this story.

As to the Specifics, I'm not sure.

Aside from the story this song is Claudio's most personal song. It is closely tied with the death of his aunt i think.. She helped the band stay together through some issues, and then the band was narrowed down to two members.

Thats one of the reasons why this record is so powerful. She kept the band together for many years and now the band has grown mature enough to survive on its own.

The same is for the Character Claudio Kilgannon. All of his companions have died, and yet he kills mayo and ryan on his own.

Great stuff.
although musicwise this is one of my least favorite.. I'm not sure why. Its still a good listen though.

Also I think its very interesting that he kills them with mercy "this aint a crime, no, I'm calling for mercy". It reminds me much of in the Sword of Truth book series by Terry Goodkind, when the main character uses the true power of his magic sword, and turns the blade white to kill with compassion and mercy someone who he's forgiven.

I don't know about all that Antimyopia.

Claudio isn't with Newo. He has grown to resent her as has the Writer.

I think this song introduces a new country western type character with a bad ass attitude. This theory comes from a part in the footage from recording this album where Sanchez is talking about the new character.

I think the character is partially dead and partially alive. He has seen death and felt it, and doesn't necessarily want to be alive. He's got a very sarcastic attitude calling Claudio 'baby' and kind of play fights with him.

Also the chorus suggests that Claudio is still contemplating suicide.

Sounds like Claudio's first encounter with Ryan.

Maybe they fight a little, maybe they don't, but at the very least Ryan tries to get Claudio to commit suicide.

I'm thinking Claudio and Ryan fight, and Claudio looses, but doesn't die. Possibly Ryan thinks Claudio dies.

Newo never had an affair with Al the Killer thats stupid.

From the point of Al entering the story to the part where he dies so that Claudio and the others can escape the house atlantic (A Favor House Atlantic) he's with Cladio.

I think this song is just showing the Writer's continued association with Newo and the negative view of Erica Court. Its the writer telling Newo that Claudio has forgotten about her, and is never coming back to her.

It also reflects on the matter that Claudio has no room for a love interest because he has a universe to save. Newo is a liar, and Ambelina(Claudio's newer love interest and the positive side of Erica Court) was killed off by the advice of Ten Speed(a manifestation of The Writers insanity).

oh also the beginning is speaking of their entrance to the House Atlantic, and Claudio telling them that theres no time to mourn all of the people that died to get them to where they are.

I think the popular theory that it is about Sizer fighting Mayo is correct. Mayo killed Jesse who was Sizer's "father", and Sizer faught hard for Jesse's affection.

It would make sense that Sizer looses and is captured by Mayo. The last lyrics are probably Sizer and chase calling to Claudio, saying he's the only one left. Its all on you boy.

Calling Claudio "Boy" is more emphasis on the fact that Claudio has yet to completely mature, but will very soon in the story.

I'd like to add that this is the beginning of his characters maturity, considering the whole album is about him growing up and accepting his duty.

Leavemesour, I believe that is when the point-of-view switches to Ryan when someone, maybe a high-ranking officer of his, is telling him there's a possibility of him failing and thats him responding.

The whole song is Claudio joining the battle and rallying the troops for the win. Ending the battle by evoking his powers as the Crowing: "I'M THE CROWING"

The line "What did I do to.. etc." I think shows Claudio's growth as a character. When he first learned of his responsibilities as the crowing, he resented it and said "What did I to to deserve this" (Blood Red Summer). Now he says What did I do to deserve all of you, showing that he appreciates the support he has from his companions.

If its true that Claudio said in an interview that its related to always and never*, its probably the writer reflecting on what he's done to the story. He probably feels a certain amount of regret, destroying a world that he created. Especially considering his reluctance to do this in GA Volume I. Since the writer and the character Claudio Kilgannon are so closely tied together, It may also be Cladio's thoughts before he addresses everyone in the next song.

*Always and never was the writer reflecting on his personal life and the story, and the beginning of his decent into insanity.
