| Dave Matthews Band – Warehouse Lyrics

Ahh where to start with the warehouse? I agree with someone said earlier this is probably the most emotional dave matthews song for me. I've felt so happy from this song, cried for no reason just the feelings that well in you. I agree that I think this was dave going through the substance abuse changes and when things starting getting really interesting in his life. He keeps going back to the good feelings and substances and keeps revisiting the theme in the song "but this I admit seems so good, it's hard not to believe in to it," he's paranoid at times "make sure all the lights on" tripping "the black cat changing colors, the whole time life is going on through these changes and he keeps revisiting the warehouse yet it is bare and there is nothing at all inside of it. The NYC show has the best warehouse especially the bridge with the sax solo, the monkey chased the weasel theme seems to represent how he chased all these things in his life and grew himself tired and eventually decided it was time to leave these things. He keeps saying, oh how I love to stay at.....we all love to stay at the warehouse with those good times but we all have to start growing up eventually. The NYC show has the best lyrics to for the bridge saying "Remember when we were walking, many things could be better than this for sure, and now things could be worse so much worse for both you and me" He's reflecting on all the things that have changed and how he went from being depressed on substances in the warehouse to reflecting back to it and just remembering it all. The end is the best part, when he looks back and says that's all our hard work our "blood" down there and it seems poured from the hands of angel's in the end. It was all worth it and some weird way it all made sense in the end he finally leaves the warehouse and those good times and hopes the next ones are just as good "heaven" That is just what it means to me, but like I said NYC best version for a great song. |

This song is about Syd, and his extreme lsd abuse. All the lyrics relate to starting out with the right ideas with his lsd trips for the cool breezes and trees when ultimately he was driven insane by the drug and would sometimes come out on stage just stand there with the band and not play. Great song and very sad at the same time. Watching a friend decay as he searches for things that aren't really there. Listen to piper at the gates of dawn once "Syd's only like main featured Floyd album", and you can tell that he was whacked out of his mind when he made half of the music. |

One of my favorite plan songs, and what they opened up with first night of the reunion shows. By far one of his best works. Travis Morrison is amazing to me because he is one of the only artists today that has such a city writing style about the hardships of life that we tend to notice and endure but not talk about. |

First off I made it to the Burgettstown show this year for opening day and this was the song that stole the night for me. A great 12 minute version with a nice extended jam build up. After aquiring some pizza toppings in the parking lot I was way up for the one sweet world but then dave started bayou and everyone went nuts. This is probably one of the best songs off of stand up and probably one of his best stories that he tells on it. The boys being in debt for cocaine and laying dead on the side of the road, the back country boys cooking up crack and killing their dad late one night, the money on the bed and you sold your soul just to get high again on the caine, great great song. Tryen to play with the caine' yooo! |

| Radiohead – Weird Fishes/Arpeggi Lyrics

This song to mean is about the weird fishes, the people that sometimes you follow in your life. It is really one of the most beautiful/saddest songs on the new CD and probably one of the best. I also heard a long time ago it is actually a cover song but I'm not sure if that's true. Anyways to me it is all pretty simple.
In the deepest ocean, at the bottom of the sea - in the darkest parts of your life, at the bottoms of it. Why not follow all these people that follow one another it seems to be the trend?
Turn me on to phantoms - materialistic goals, false hopes in life etc. The things that these weird fishes are following that you have never seen before. Bright lights, big city.
He get's eaten by the worms-The bait that lured him into the bottom of this ocean or depression are now the things that are over coming him. In other words the materials (money, the latest cell phones etc, are now the things that have over taken his life.)
He hits the bottom then, hes left alone at the bottom of the ocean and now it's time to try and escape all these false hopes that he followed into.
Of course this is just what it means to me. |

As with much of their music, I believe most of it is from heavy LSD abuse. Even dating as far back as lines from Patter Against User, they seem to have a big problem with modern society and dictate this in a lot of their songs. LSD is drug that can go either two ways, you can abuse it and become and eraser head and basically let it take over you, or as with many other bands which believe it is a "tool" ex (the disco biscuits) you can unlock a world unknown to many and in a way go through the barriers which restrain you in modern life and music. In short, you think outside of the box, you never get tired, which is part of the reason I believe this guy can play guitar like he does. Also, their writing style is such a progressive style of writing that you would have to be a genius to write half of it. It is all mathematical, so if you ever wonder how he comes up with these solos the best way I could explain it is that the probably takes some lsd, sits down for about 8 hours writes the notes he wants, then re arranges them into different orders, it may not sound right but it is all in the same key and still pretty much the same scale. LSD has always been associated with music and probably some of the best music of all time (led zepplin, pink floyd, hendrix, these guys who are unlike anything I ever heard, the disco biscuits and so much more) True, lsd will probably not help in writing a 5 minute power pop green day or fall out boy song, but for complex musician ship it is always the perfect "tool." |

A long time ago I saw SoCo with NFG, Finch, and Further Seems forever when the dashboard guy was still in it. I was lucky enough to spend my time in a hooters chilling with Finch at the bar before they decided to blow it all on hello to sunshine, and no you can't tell me that album is good. Anywho, Andrew is quite the talker or at least used to be and was pretty open about everything. This song is truly amazing but the watching stars coming off the wall and stuff like that in their songs I wouldn't put past a cid trip if anybody knows that is. Yes the rest of the song is the typical girl stuff, but they at least used to be into the mind expansion stuff. Who would have thought? |
