| Joe Purdy – The City Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song to me revolves around two things... his love for the city and the girl that's living in it. It's like a story. Joe Purdy seems to be more familiar with the country as stated in his previous songs. So in this song it's hard not to assume that he's traveling to a city he's never been to before. So pretty much he's describing a situation in which he goes to this city and see's a girl he's been in love with and that nothing has changed about her. He describes that the city keeps "going" and what's beautiful about that is that he's saying as life goes on, she never seems to loose her beauty. That's just my take on the song! |

| The Dead Weather – I Cut Like a Buffalo Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Alright, so I think I get it now. Jack purposly wrote this song to be taken in two ways. Its interpretation can be seen as sexual reference, or as simply being "thick skinned", because obviously, "cut like a buffalo" means two things: to engage in sexual intercourse until the girl bleeds, or to be something taken seriously... (as I said before, being thick skinned... as in you don't wanna fuck around with him.) And as CeddarBiscuits was saying, how when you hear choking and gagging sounds that are mixed to sound like turntable scratching.. he did that on purpose. He clearly wanted this song to be incredibly two sided. He's a genius. Also, with the lyric... 'You cut a record on my throat, But the record's not broken,' I'm almost certain that it means to be struck down with something he's passionate about... (something as important and sacred to him such as the music he makes) but even that can't destroy him. Because he's THICK skinned and in the end, he's gonna kick your ass because he's serious. haha. It's very metaphoric and incredibly genius! |

| Tupac Shakur – Hit 'Em Up Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"Get out the way yo, get out the way yo Biggie Smallz just got dropped Little Moo, pass the Mac, and let me hit him in his back Frank White need to get spanked right, for settin tracks little accident murderer, and I ain't never heard-a ya Poisinous gats attack when I'm servin ya Spank the shank ya whole style when I dank Guard your rank, cause I'ma slam you in the pavement Puffy weaker that a fuckin rocka wanna do, nigga and, I'll smoke ya junior mafia in front of you, nigga With the ready power tuckin my Guess under my Eddie Bauer ya clout, pretty sour I get packages every hour and hit em up" ^^ This entire song is a dis to Biggie Smallz, (aka Frank White), Because one day him and tupac were coincidently in the same hotel and Tupac was shot 5 times by some random guy when getting off the elevator and when he looked up, he saw Biggie right in front of him with a "what the fuck, why aren't you dead" look on his face. So with that, Pac is convinced that Biggie had someone from East side trying to kill him because of his success. This song is also about how Biggie claims that Tupac fucked his wife, and it's funny because Biggie really did claim to be this "player" when he had a wife. wtf?? haha Tupac Shakur also mentions about Bad Boy records, which is Biggie's label and how they copied his style. And he's pissed because it took Biggie less time to go platinum before Pac, and he stole his swag. ---and @ jonodajoke, Mobb Deep supported Biggie and "his" style. pac4life =] |

| Tupac Shakur – Ghost Lyrics | 17 years ago |
you ppl are driving me crazy LISTEN TO THE LYRICS OF THIS SONG!!! Its proof that Tupac Shakur IS alive. "Makaveli" is another way Tupac used to spell the author "Machiavelli", who wrote a book about faking death. the ending especially reveals how he will be coming back "A seven deuce full of niggas goes by Thought I was trippin' the second time they roll by Recognize the plates, the faces look familiar But everybody swear they know the nigga that's gonna kill ya Don't murder me, murder me, kill a nigga in his sleep Let me die as I rest in peace, deep Back to these niggas in the seven deuce A Mac 10 out the window, 'bout to let it loose What could I do? Run for cover and return fire Die motherfucker die, hope your ass fry, don't ask why But I let off everything I had An empty clip hit the ground as a nigga dash On my ass was the motherfuckin' cops now Barely breathin', trying to keep from gettin' shot down *Boo-cow* was the sound, bullet whiz by Still runnin' like a nigga got nine lives Don't know why, but I'm runnin' to my fuckin' block Took a shot, tired of runnin' from the niggas and the cops Time to be a ghost" THIS EXPLAINS HOW HE TURNED INTO A "GHOST" AND HOW HE WILL BE COMING BACK. THIS EXPLAINS HIS "DEATH" if you unscramble "makaveli" you get "am alive" RESEARCH HIM. ALSO RESEARCH 7 DAY THEORY. TUPAC SHAKUR IS NOT DEAD. GOD DAMMIT people are so fucking STUPID |

| The Beatles – Strawberry Fields Forever Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Drugs are the first thing that comes to mind when people listen to this song... when its really about a place that john would go as a child (which was located next to an orphanage.) But thats the thing about The Beatles, they make songs so you can interpret them in different ways. |

| Taking Back Sunday – MakeDamnSure Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with brina2122... when it comes down to the point where they've broken up, he's confused because he comes to the point again where he misses her and realizes how much he really loves her which makes him want to get back together with the girl again. This is what makes him want to "break you down so badly" for doing this to him. He wants to get revenge but hes just confused on how and if he should even do it. Its a love/hate relationship... he loves her to death but he wants to hate her so badly. |
| Taking Back Sunday – Divine Intervention Lyrics | 17 years ago |
After reading the lyrics several times, It sounds like the song is written like a story... about a past relationship that didn't go well leaving someone to move on. It has a beginning, middle, and end. It starts off with a breakup... "All of those flavors and this is what you choose. Pass the blues, pass the blues, And onto something new." ^alcohol related verse? Maybe by "passing the blues" he means drinking his pain away and moving onto someone new...? "Something real, Make it timeless. An act of God and nothing less will be accepted. So if you're calling me out, Then count me out." ^^This is when he discovers he needs something "real" and nothing thatll just leave him the way his past relationship just did. "Yeah, we're stubborn and mellowdramatic, A real class act. You see I know a few of your favorite things. Five in the morning and out comes out pouring love Out the same way in." ^^He explains about this new relationship. That he has finally found this "real" factor he's been searching for in a girl. That they can be "mellowdramatic" and stubborn at the same time... but still be a "REAL class act"... meaning he's found someone REAL who can also be vicious but still be romantic (which as said in the 1st verse are "a few of his favorite things") This is a really confusing song, but thats my interpretation... could be wrong. |

| Cute Is What We Aim For – Risque Lyrics | 17 years ago |
wow no. It's not about a hooker. knowing Cute Is What We Aim For, I totally doubt they would write about shit like that. "medically speaking you're adorable. and from what i hear you're quite affordable. but i like them pricey. so exagerate and trick me." What he means by "quite affordable" is that she's not into material shit that an average highschool guy wouldn't be able to afford. I think this is simply a love song written about a highschool boy who has a crush on a girl that won't pick up her phone. SO... "i can't think of things to write down, to type down. and these fingertips are moving faster than these lips. so you can only imagine how jealous my mouth is." he talks to her on the computer through the internet. none of this "OMG ITS ABOUT A HOOKER." because its not. |

| The Black Maria – Betrayal Lyrics | 17 years ago |
wow! only 6 comments for this song?? You people need to start listening to ALL of Victory Records' bands! Anyways, obviously, he's been cheated on by his girlfriend leaving him feeling "betrayed". "You used to live in a memory, Now those pictures are burning...now You're a memory, A fingerprint on the film, You're a shadow in the sun, Now it's your time to burn..." Since she's "burned" him internally, now he's burning photos that held memories of them together! good stufff. (check out the music video to this, its pretty good.) |

| Lydia – All I See Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this is so amazing... it made me tear up a little the first time i heard it :'[ lol I'm really not sure what this song is about... But I'm guessing it's about a couple changing, while being split apart from each other. And even though they both know they've changed, they still want to be together (as said in the lyric "No one could ever wait for you"), it simply explains that neither one are ready to let go and they don't want to wait any longer. "But you are the never ending sleep That I love to treat with this medicine I get from my, my closer friend But all I see..." This is about how she is always on his mind, even when he sleeps. He tries to get over her by getting high, but all he seems to think about is her. And it's all he sees. |
| Incubus – Drive Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song's meaning is quite obvious... "So if I decide to waiver my chance to be one of the hive Will I choose water over wine and hold my own and drive?" He's singing about how he has the determination of coping through the obstacles in his life without having to drink his sorrow away. "Would you choose water over wine... Hold the wheel and drive?" Now in this lyric, "Hold the wheel and drive" is about taking control of your OWN life and being able to conqure everything life hits you with. thats what the song is about. dont believe all this other bullshit. |
