This song is clearly about the summer she lost her virginity and the guy whom she lost it to. The way i see it this guy has a girlfriend ( Who Vanessa was very close with/ one of the "5" of them in her heart) but that did not change the connection he had with Vanessa, i see this song as them having a bit of an affair, maybe it wasent an physical affair the whole time( up untill when she lost her viriginity) but definatly an emotional one. And the song is just her dealing with it all, the fact that they cant be together, she gave him the most important thing to a girl and he has a girlfriend This song is amazing |

| i see this song kind of differently...i always took it as though two people having always had a very complicated relationship with eachother- very on again/off again. Like the timing was always off between them; when one was ready to be with the other, it just never worked out- they kept missing out on eachother. And its just about on REALIZEing how they truely feel and wanting to be with the other but the timing is just always bad- no matter how perfect they are for eachother | |
