In this case it could be stupidity, they try to gain their attention but the other person is oblivious, finding ways to "resent" them. | I think it is just him reassuring someone who is dying that the times they had together will make (her?) immortal in a sense and that you can never really die because you've touched so many people that (cheesy coming up ->) a piece of you will always be with them even after death, you may not be alive literally but your past actions will keep you alive in other peoples hearts.. I agree that Mrs. O and Virginia are one and the same but to me the point of the song is we're always being lied to, Mrs. O was and she passed on what she thought the truth was but when she learns the truth she knows the only way to keep herself comfortable is to deny what the actual truth is (the opposite of what she has taught and known all her life, since she had no evidence to doubt the 'truth') But I am sure it is much more complex than just that one point, and is probably also what everyone else added. One of my favorites off the album. |

Ok I didn't read the majority of other comments so I'll just say what I've got. The character is a woman who has been broken so many times. The men she dances for only see skin deep, they are princes and when midnight (getting to know her) comes they'll find out she wasn't that perfect girl working the pole but a truly broken person with problems and is nothing like they thought she was. |

She was on The Young And The Restless, today! I never heard the whole song, and even then they only played part of her song during a fictional photo shoot, but I really like it. I'm a bi guy and don't mind it... It is just talking about spontaneously curious lust and something fun to listen to, not trying to bash an orientation or make you feel bad for 'the other woman.' |

Based on the kiss at the end of the music video I think the song is talking about denying your true feelings (for someone of the same sex) to the extremes of getting hammered to the point of a fake-happiness. Possibly getting a tattoo for a girl to try and prove to yourself you don't have the feelings you're trying to suppress and eventually realizing your kidding yourself and give into your emotions for the other person. :) |
