Omg these lyrics are for AGE OF REASON not REASONS...... two completely different songs.... here are the CORRECT lyrics for this song. Some people are dreamers, they live for the future As if it would work out, just as they dreamed it Would work out - somehow Others get caught in, yesterday's papers Too busy reading, to get on with living But I - live for now Sometimes it's easy to make up excuses On the flimsiest pretext and then call them reasons But where are they now? Like I'm way too busy, I can't be involved now And then there's the standby about understanding But they're - wrong somehow I'll climb more than a mountain Swim more than an ocean Build up an island Live for a lifetime Just give me a reason and I'll come running When I have reasons, I know the way I'm pointing my feet in the right direction Give me a reason Some people are dreamers, they live for the future As if it would work out, just as they dreamed it Would work out - somehow |

| the other thing i just thought of , is perhaps people have stuck her up on a pedestal and thought she was the poster girl for everything ideal, when really she was as fucked up as the rest of them? | |

I see it totally different to everyone else here it seems... i see it very sarcastic... To me it seems like shes pointing out what other girls have turned out like ( ie checkout chicks with tattooed backs - they think they are cool cos of their tatoos but really they are just like everyone else), and pointing out what she used to be like and going gee i really was the poster girl for all that crap.... "To all the ones who tried the most was I supposed to cheer your efforts Sorry that I chose so poorly Golly gee am I the poster girl" I see that like she had guys who tried to help her save her from her own self destructive ways, but she thinks shes really a glaring example of the girl she describes that treats them like dirt.... The other people think the "checkout chicks" are people who have made something of themselves, and dont see how much effort she has made to change her self destructive ways and how shes more someone to look up to than they are. And how they thought they knew her, but really they didnt... Another twist is shes describing a friend and saying you all thought i was the poster girl of self destruction but here is a friend who is worse than i am.... |

| 30 Seconds to Mars – From Yesterday Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I think it is about someone whos past is catching up on them. "From yesterday, it’s coming From yesterday, the fear From yesterday, it calls him But he doesn't want to read the message here" They are afraid of parts of it, and are pretending it doesnt exist, and are unwilling to see what their past is trying to tell them about decisions and choices yet to be made. Unable to learn from past mistakes because they are unwilling to accept that they happened. "On a mountain he sits, not of gold but of shit through the blood he can look see the lives that he took From a count to the one He'll decide when he’s done with the innocent" They things that have happened in their past can be viewed as bad and terrible by some, and so he pretends he cant remember it. "For a fortune he'd quit But it’s hard to admit How it ends and begins On his face is a map of the world" He wants to deal with it but doesnt know why it defines him, and isnt sure if he wants it to define him or not but doesnt know how to discern between what is him and what is his past. but its obvious to everyone around what it is, and he cant hide it from showing on his face, even though he tries.... |
