| Linkin Park – Faint Lyrics | 17 years ago |

i think it COULD be about being gay just because of the line I am what you never want to say, but I've never had a doubt and what the other person said....but probably not i think its about loving someone who wont listen to you properly and doesnt care about you when youre in trouble and just tries to ignore any problems you might have and trying hard to make things work but it never does |

| The Flaming Lips – My Cosmic Autumn Rebellion (The Inner Life as Blazing Shield of Defiance and Optimism as Celestial Spear of Action) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I eventually pieced together this manifesto of defiance and optimism. It is my response to the naysaying know-it-alls who see life leading only to death and see nature as a cruel prankster designed to defeat the human spirit. And the truth (which I get to proclaim as if standing on the top of a holy mountain shooting lazer beams out of my hands - thanks to Steven's epic orchestration) is that no circumstance can ever defeat us unless we let it... Resilience in the face of failure is a manifestation of the mind..." theres the full thing its some beautiful writing "no circumstance can ever defeat us unless we let it" |

i love the lyrics of this song, even if the music aint too great And if you take away my pain Please don't leave my brain Because when I think it hurts just the same i love those lines its about like when the worst pain comes from your head, because youre thinking too much or scared of things you dont need to be scared about or whatever so really its his brain thats the problem |

| The Flaming Lips – The Sound of Failure/It's Dark... Is It Always This Dark?? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
as a matter of fact, i dont know how people got a criticism of the music industry from that when the lyric is "shes not trying to go against all them" she doesnt hate them, she loves them very much and appreciates what theyre trying to do but sometimes you need to accept things rather than pretending everything is perfect |

| crustyknickers has it right, but gwen and britney were metaphors for her cheery happy friends, it isnt a criticism of the music at all | |

| The Flaming Lips – The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song (With All Your Power) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
If you could make everybody poor just so you could be rich Would you do it? im not sure but this song sometimes makes me think about the law suit that wouldve occurred not long before this song was written where cat stevens sued the flaming lips for plagurism because fight test sounds somewhat similar to father and son cat stevens didnt really need the money and fight test obviously wasnt intentional plaguirism and most people wouldn't have bothered but he has all this fame and power and he decided to take someone elses money so that he could have more money him im not saying the song is about him, but about that sort of thinking in general cat stevens is just one very small example |

| The Flaming Lips – Waitin' for a Superman Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
i think its also about trying to fix every problem that you see and having people rely on you to help them out all the time and sometimes it just all gets too much, too heavy, for one person He hasn't dropped them, forgot them or anything It's just too heavy for Superman to lift thats him trying to help them out but its just too much... |

there used to be a blog on the flaming lips myspace with really long explanations. i should try to find it cause it was so good one of my favourite quotes in the explanation of this song was "resilience in the face of defeat is a manifestation of the mind" |
