i think this song it's about a girl who got pregnant and when she told her boyfriend, he just left. and she says it'll be hard to take care of a baby but she'll try her best. then when she sings the elvis never could carry a tune, it means that she's gonna love her baby always no matter what. and the part when she sing the she's still a jerk playing with matches, is just that he's not around to play along. it means that she did it by herself, she's been taking care of her son, maybe not the best way but she didn't need the father around. my mother told me that when she told my dad she was pregnant of me, he dissapear and left her alone, she said she felt bad at first but then understood that she didn't need him. but anyway my dad came back 3 months later and he was really sorry, we've been a really nice family, but i love so much my mother cause she would fight for me always, no matter what.... |
