Hmmm. I enjoy you. : ) I must completely agree. There isn't a deeper meaning in EVERY song artists write, in fact half of them don't want people looking for deeper meaning. This song is straight forward. It is a song about how he feels inadequate to his parents expectations. dresarii: I think your second post is correct. Brilliant discovery. Maybe it means what his parents want for him isn't necassarily right for him. Being under par is good right ? So being under par to his parents expectations is good. Sound right ? Does it make sense ? |

This is most likely the most far-off translation but the lines "With the loss of a youthful mind You need to look at what you've become" It may be about an adult losing the child within that so many people lose as the stresses of everyday life act upon them. It was confirmed on my cities radio station, 99.5 Yes FM, that this song was about an underdog hero getting the girl of his dreams. They said it was their "life story." It is also about the two running away from the peer pressure and stress about their "forbidden" relationship. Love the song xx. |

I agree. The German is a thousand times better. Even when directly translated ! But it's nice to hear some of it in English too. Honestly I can live with both aspects of their music happily. It's also true that, yes, I only became a fan of them after they released Ubers Ende Der Welt into the English version Ready, Set, Go. But after I heard that song I downloaded ALL their songs including the German ones. PS; German isn't offered as a second language in Canada so I had no way to find them unless I heard it in English first or knew someone who was German or had some form of way to know about everything universal. Which is impossible. |

Ohk well now that everyone has established that there is indeed a direct translation, which I think is interesting, and then the actual english song, we should decide on a meaning. I believe this song is about everyone always telling you what to do in life because they know whats best and finally you say f***k you, because you really are the only one that knows whats best for you. Well that's what I think it may be or is close to :) any improvements to my suggestion ? |

So hate to burst all the bubbles out there BUT: In an interview with Tokio Hotel Bill says Ready, Set, Go is actually about defying what everyone tells you and reaching for your goals and dreams ! I know I was shocked it deffinately doesn't seem like that's what it would mean but the artist said it so must be true. lovess to all xox |
