| Hurt – Wars Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I like to think that this song is mostly about the physical wars going on in the world. The last lines: "Won't you please close your eyes? For the millions of lives... Who have senselessly died in a war?" Makes me think of how many people have died fighting that didn't need to, present and past. "How many weapons did I help create? How many lives will I devestate?" Those are my favorite lines in the song! Really powerful in my opinion. |

| The Used – Yesterday's Feelings Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This song has to be about getting high, especially to escape from reality. All the lyrics support that, but if I had to pic a few lines they would be: "Close my eyes and move to the back of my mind where worries are washed out to sea See the changes, peoples faces blurred out like sun spots on raindrops" or "Now all those feelings those yesterdays feelings will all be lost in time But today I've wasted away for today is on my mind" (plus there's a fricken bong in the background!) |

| Bob Dylan – Mr. Tambourine Man Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Whenever I hear this song I get sad. It always seems to me like he's depressed or feeling alone. The lines like, "Take me on a trip upon your magic swirlin' ship, My senses have been stripped, my hands can't feel to grip, My toes too numb to step, wait only for my boot heels To be wanderin'. I'm ready to go anywhere, I'm ready for to fade..." Sound like drugs, but he's using them to escape life. This song sounds like loneliness. "Though I know that evenin's empire has returned into sand, Vanished from my hand, Left me blindly here to stand but still not sleeping. My weariness amazes me, I'm branded on my feet, I have no one to meet And the ancient empty street's too dead for dreaming." "Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow." This line is tragically beautiful. Again about using drugs to escape reality (my opinion). He has a way to take such simple feelings and ideas, and create a line into saying them in more of a complex original way, like, "My weariness amazes me" |
