| The Killers – Human Lyrics

|
"Pay my respects to grace and virtue
Send my condolences to good
Hear my regards to soul and romance
They always did the best they could
And so long to devotion
It taught me everything I know
Wave goodbye, wish me well
You've gotta let me go"
THIS, OH MY GOD. |

Seriously, this is a really sexy song. The idea of someone literally covering you, just pouring themselves over you...it gives me the shivers. |

| Jonas Brothers – Lovebug Lyrics

I always assumed that I would completely hate the Jonas Brothers, because boy bands are not my style at all (let alone pre-pubescent ANYTHING...) But I heard this song in my friend's car last night and it's super cute! It sounds more like indie rock than the crappy boy-pop I was expecting. Consider me to have had an epiphany. |

I fucking love this song. I listened to it last night while I was on the bus into the city, and it almost made me cry. AMAZING. |

I love this song so much, but every time I hear it I hate that I can't sing along because I can't understand a damn word she's saying!
Everyone's got something they're hiding. That's it. |

This is such a sweet song. I think of it as a married couple growing old together, but in a weird way it also makes me think of my best friend and me. We dated once upon a time, and now we're platonic but so incredibly close...I plan to grow old with him. Not in a romantic sense, of course, but I can still see it. Love this song. |

| Foo Fighters – Stranger Things Have Happened Lyrics

|
I didn't really like this song right away, but now I'm madly in love, especially with the chorus.
It's just a guy sitting in his house waiting for his SO to get home, and thinking about the relationship. It's got kind of a "front porch" feel to it... |

| Foo Fighters – The Deepest Blues Are Black Lyrics

It's about losing yourself. Doesn't matter whether it's to drugs or a relationship or anything else in the world...it's about falling so deep into something that it swallows you up. |

God, this song is so gorgeous. I think it might be about people he lost while he was addicted--relationships he totally squandered while feeding the drug habit. |

| Kaiser Chiefs – Heat Dies Down Lyrics
|
|
It could be about fame--how suddenly things are different for everyone, and then the heat dies down and no one cares anymore--but I'd always interpreted it as being about a relationship. "I can just imagine you and me, running out of steam, going through the motions"...have you ever been in one of those relationships where after awhile you're just together for the sake of saying you're together, and you're just too lazy to break up? There's no actual reason to end it, but neither person really cares all that much anymore. I think that's supported by "I cannot imagine growing old, to have and to hold". He's like..."you know, this really isn't going anywhere, the heat is gone" (or will be soon). |

| Orgy – Stitches Lyrics

I wouldn't be surprised if it's about a gay relationship...but either way, I think it's just about that kind of love/obsession with someone, especially sexually, where you feel like you're empty and open and they make you back into a "real person" again. |

I can't believe no one's commented on this song! I love it to death, it's one of my favorite tracks from Amar Es Combatir. It's one of the few songs in my library that just makes me want to dance.

Porque no hay commentos en este cancion?!?! Me gusta muchisimo, es un de mis favoritos en Amar Es Combatir. Es un de los solos canciones en el mundo que me hacen querer a bailar. |

Her voice is kinda weird--not bad, just weird. But I think it works for this song...I can't imagine some pop-princess butchering it. Gorgeous song. |

| Rob Zombie – Living Dead Girl Lyrics
|
I actually don't think it's really about a dead girl, in the strictest sense. Maybe about a girl who's so empty and numb that she's just looking for a good fuck?
Or, knowing Rob Zombie, it's necrophilia. Flip a coin, right? |

I'm not much of a Zombie fan, but I LOVE this song. Every time it comes on the radio in the car I turn it up as loud as it'll go, no matter what. |

| Franz Ferdinand – The Dark of the Matinee Lyrics

That first line is SO sexy, holy shit. I think it's just about that courtship period of a relationship, where you don't really know each other yet but you're edging together..."time every journey to bump into you". |

| The Killers – Romeo and Juliet (Dire Straits cover) Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
I love this song...I think it's pretty obvious what it's about. For me it reminds me of my best friend, who is also my ex.
I have always wondered whether it was "through the bars of Orion" or "through the bars of a rhyme". The next line ("I'd do the stars with you anytime") makes more sense with "Orion", but for the longest time I thought it was "through the bars of a rhyme", and considering some of Flowers' strange lyrics, it's the kind of thing he would write. (Also, being a poet myself, I find that idea really beautiful.) |

This was the first Manson (and, indeed, one of the first "secular") song I ever heard, back when I was still a fundamentalist Christian at the age of 14. I hated it because it mocked my faith, but I loved it regardless. Honestly it helped me become who I am today. |

| Brandi Carlile – Closer to You Lyrics

It's pretty self-explanatory. I love this lines
"Tomorrow I'll be lying under you

When my life is through
But I just wanna be closer to you" |

| Brandi Carlile – Someday Never Comes Lyrics

Such a sad song...I think it's obviously about an ex where the relationship has just fallen apart completely and the singer knows it's never going to be the same again. |

My girlfriend gave me this song on a CD and said it reminded her of me. : ) Considering the sensuality of the lyrics I suppose that's a good thing, right?
It's so sexy, but so, like...calming? You know? |

| Nightwish – Eva Lyrics

I don't think Tarja could have delivered this song. It's too light. She has an amazing voice and it totally worked for most of Nightwish's work (Dark Chest of Wonders, Wishmaster, Nemo, Come Cover Me, and many more), but hey, a change had to happen, and I'm happy with Anette. She in turn would never be able to do what Tarja did, not in a million years, but her voice is PERFECT for songs like Amaranth, Whoever Brings The Night, Eva, etc. |

| Nightwish – Higher Than Hope Lyrics
|
I always thought it said "passion died, an angel by my side".
Hmm. To me it sounds like the painful breakup of a longterm relationship, where the singer (she?) is just left hollow and yearning because of what she had pinned her hopes on in the relationship and now everything's been disappointed.
But yeah, with the background speaking and the explanation of cancer and whatnot, that all totally makes sense. This song is so beautiful and eerie. |

| Serj Tankian – Lie Lie Lie Lyrics

|
I love this song regardless of what it means or if it even has meaning. When I first listened to it I just thought it was pretty nonsense, but I think maybe it's about the courtship between the government and the people of any given country (obviously America in this case). The government, the man, has let her go and she's falling to her death because he lied to her. |

| The Killers – Jenny Was a Friend of Mine Lyrics

Obviously it's about Tarja, but I remember when I was trying to cut my ex out of my life and was just so angry about everything, like we'd never talked or tried to solve things. It's a very bitter song. |

| Nightwish – Come Cover Me Lyrics

|
God, I LOVE this song. I think it's one of my favorites that Tarja's ever sung. it's so haunting, you know? Haha, it makes me think of how guys give their girlfriends a sweatshirt or a jacket of theirs, and the girl just curls up in it when she misses him.
Also I think it's kind of seductive, being "covered" by someone else, being drowned in their skin. |

| Metallica – Until It Sleeps Lyrics

I love Metallica, but I think this is one of my all-time favorite songs of any band. James' voice just has such pain in in when he says "tear me open, pour me out". I know it's about cancer, but I think anyone who's ever hated something about themselves can relate to it. LOVE this song. |
