| Oops, that's 'ballasted by our silences' at the end of verse one, not secrets. | |

I've tried my hardest, but sadly I'm just francophone rather than French so I think I missed some deeper meanings. This is as close as I could come, though ^^ Blinded by our tears we become pawns Fate preserves til the end when opinion is born If the pack [of hounds] accepts you at the final question Do not turn right, do not finish dry (?), do not deflect your steps I want to walk without regret, burn entire pages Even sow secrets, tame my troubles Ballasted by our secrets, I have lost my sanity too much As far as it is needed, I will find contact at the end x2 As far as it is needed And the shockwave spreads the message And I leave the ground The storm is getting ready Fooled by the calm until I left the front Until abstinence, at the end until obstruction To close our senses, without stopping, drown our silences In a lesser crash, in the space of our bodies In the space under our feet The head well under the water, I've decided as far As my body supports or further than is needed I'm going to take back my hours, pay off the grim reaper |

| Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – Slipping Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The line "everything I ever" echoes the backing singers in Finale. | |

That last shot is amazing, so skillfully done, and it shows what a lie that last line is. He got what he wanted, but it's a bitter victory, because he lost the most important thing. |

| Dr Horrible's lines in this one are class :D | |
| Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – My Eyes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Great song, and classic Whedon - it's just like a few from the Buffy musical episode. | |
| The Ting Tings – That's Not My Name Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| sianii is right. It isn't about men at all - they've done a few interviews in NME and said it's about being first of all mistaken for other people, and second of all anger at the record company. The 'darling'/'bird' bit doesn't just apply to getting chatted up, British blokes use it all the time for women whose names they don't know. | |
| Ainslie Henderson – Keep Me A Secret Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I hadn't heard this song from the time of the series until now, and I remember it incredibly clearly. That's the sign of a really great song. Awesome lyrics, I'm shocked he only has one song here since he's had an album since, apparently. | |
| Manic Street Preachers – Black Dog on My Shoulder Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The song kind of reminds me of the phrase "hair of the dog that bit me" as well - when he sings "there's a black dog on my shoulder again" it implies a sense of continuity, as if he dislikes the black dog/depression, and yet still keeps coming back to it. | |
| Manic Street Preachers – The Second Great Depression Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's "When you and me did nothing but smile", actually. To me, this is about Richey; about the depression that he and all of them went through, and the fact that they thought it would blow over - but it didn't - "I can't believe I let it happen". It's about thinking of when they were young and happy, and how it all changed. |
