Anyone else feel like the first line is a riff on/ joke towards Oasis? The vocal style and lyric "Maayyybeeee...someone's gonna save me" recalls a few of their songs, which are kind of lampooned by the next line, "My heart is made of gravy."
Also, the accent that SM puts on for "Jacob Javits, I'd like to thank you for everything, primarily your glass house" is reminiscent of Bill Clinton.
Not sure if anyone else took these to be references to the milieu of the mid-90's. |

| Hoodoo Gurus – Another World Lyrics

Seems to be about a relationship with someone from completely different circumstances or experiences, and the ensuing gap between what the speaker and the subject can relate to. Being from Perth like the Hoodoo Gurus, I always thought that it might be acknowledging in some way the distance from the rest of the world. And the space references seemed to be metaphors for faraway and more central parts of the world - "the Sun" being Europe or North America or somewhere foreign that the world seems to revolve much more around than Western Australia. |

I understand this is an answer song to "To Her Door" by Paul Kelly, from the perspective of the guy that walks out under the weight of a lot of issues. |

| The Triffids – Jerdacuttup Man Lyrics

The line "I'm a little out of shape but I'm too young to go!" coming from Dave always gives me the chills.
Other than that, this is a pretty interesting take on the occasional discoveries of mummies found in peat bogs. Jerdacuttup is the home of the McComb family farm. |
