Björk – Innocence Lyrics 12 years ago
This is such an abnosome song! It's abnormal that she's implying that innocence (commonly associated with irrational fears) is actually less frightening than experience, but it's awesome that she says that courage makes it fun! Abnosome!

Lacuna Coil – Spellbound Lyrics 17 years ago
I don't know now... The whole thing seems too generic for it to be a fault. I've heard the overlying theme of the album is superficiality, and I think all these cliches we're seeing aren't the band trying to be the next big thing, but trying to show how fickle such a position is. The idea is somewhat supported by the cover. Opposite to "Evanescence" whose theme is "slowly fading away"; a glass grenade brings to mind a sudden, concussive crash from existence. I may be grasping, but maybe this song is SUPPOSED to be as simple and blunt as it sounds.

Lacuna Coil – Spellbound Lyrics 17 years ago
But... Does it sound nice? Is it not still Lacuna Coil? Could it, in fact, be you who is is spellbound? Controlled by unrealistic expectations, cynicism... It's not like they're not trying. That said, it is a distinct change in the tone and depth of meaning compared to many of the older songs. There's no mystery, no metaphor, no melancholy. Not so drastic as the shallowing of Evanescence between "Fallen" and "The Open Door", but still the album IS called Shallow Life. Maybe this just one is made outside of the mold to try something different?

Lacuna Coil – 1:19 Lyrics 17 years ago
Maybe the title comes from the Bible after all.

2 Samuel 1:19-
"The glory of Israel lay slain at its peak! How the mighty have fallen!"

Seems to match with the song a little...

Lacuna Coil – Senzafine (English Version) Lyrics 17 years ago
I have a similar view on it with "dark ivory". It's about whether it's possible to break free from destiny. The song "Swamped" seems to be an idea in the same vein, but that one's instead saying "Destiny, who cares? I'm living my life as it goes on, I don't need to know whether I'm deciding what happens or if it's decided already."

Simon and Garfunkel – The Sound of Silence Lyrics 17 years ago
We are so involved in asking "Why?" that we never think to answer. And should a soul try to teach us the answer, his words will be drowned in the clamor of questions. That's what "the sound of silence" means to me.

"The world went and got itself in a big damn hurry." -Brooks, The Shawshank Redemption

Kamelot – Soul Society Lyrics 17 years ago
At the beginning I can hear
"Hate is ... natural"
"Reach out and ... "
"Let it go"
"...Think we have a soul?"
"Maniacal laughter"

No idea how to make sense of that, and I can't find an official transcript of it anywhere on the internet.

Miranda Cosgrove – Leave It All to Me (Theme From iCarly) Lyrics 17 years ago
It's about following your dreams and taking life by the horns as I see it. The defining line is "There's no chance unless you take one" which reminds me of "See Who I Am" by Within Temptation in which there's the line "Fear is withering the soul / At the point of no return / We must be the change we wish to see". This song is not bad for a show intro, and the show itself is better than 99% of the stuff on Nick, not that that's saying much.

Rihanna – Break It Off Lyrics 17 years ago
It probably means nothing more than your average courtship song, but it's got a really nice beat. Personally I think the "yo yo yo's" and "pumba's" mess it up though, if Rihanna sung the whole song or some of Sean Paul's interjections were replaced by instrumentals I'd like it a lot more.
