I disagree with abeastsmove. I think it is about a long distance relationship. But i think she probably broke up with him and moved away. He's obviously driving to see her, he doesn't wanna speak on telephones, he'd rather drive and do it face to face. I dunno, thats just what i get from it, when you miss someone, sometimes hearing their voice in your head just makes you feel even worse, because it reminds you they aren't there. |

I'm not amazing at french but from what i know i think it roughly translates as this: Well you see, as everything combines And from the heart to your lips, i become a problem Your laugh defines me, to let you go Before losing hold, and abandoning Because I would never ask you for that Already you are treating me, like a big child We have nothing to lose Besides our lives that we leave aside But he loves me still, and me I love you a little more But he loves me still, and me I love you a little more It is enough of these loops It's harder to do otherwise Because without laughing it's easier to dream At what we would be able, never again to touch We take each other's hands, like children The happiness on our lips, a little niave And we walk together, from a decided step Even if our heads yell at us to stop everything He loves me still, and you, you love me a little more But he loves me still, and me I love you a little more And despite that, he loves me still, and me I love you a little more But he loves me still, and me I love you a little more Still, and I love you a little more But he loves me still, and me I love you a little more And despite that, he loves me still, and me I love you a little more But he loves me still, and me I love you a little more And despite that, he loves me still, and me I love you a little more But he loves me still, and me I love you a little more And despite that, he loves me still, and me I love you a little more But he loves me still, and me I love you a little more The plus fort could mean "a little stronger" rather than more. I'm not sure. |

| Blind Pilot – Three Rounds And A Sound Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I'd say the lyrics are slightly different than they are posted...i think they are... They're playing our song They're playing our song Can you see the lights? Can you hear the hum? Of our song I hope they get it right I hope we dance tonight Before we, get it wrong And the seasons Will change us new But you're the best I've known and you know me I could not be stuck on you If it weren't true I was swimming My eyes were dark Til you woke me And told me that opening is just the start it was Now I see you, til kingdom come You're the one I want To see me for all the stupid shit I've done (Chorus) Soil and six feet under Kept just like we were Before you knew you'd know me And you know me Blooming up from the ground 3 Rounds and a sound Like whispering you know me And you know me So this was our song This was our song I still see the lights I can see them And the criss cross Of what is true, won't get to us Cause you know me I could not give up on you It wouldn't feel true. And the fog of what is right Won't cover us cause you know me I could not give up a fight Wouldn't feel right (Chorus) And if it is like this then i think it makes a bit more sense. Essentially i think it is about a relationship. The first verse is about how the beginning of a relationship can feel like you lose it all at any moment, with the lines; "I hope we dance tonight, before we get it wrong." I think this means how he wants them to enjoy it all before they maybe mess it all up. The second verse is talking about change, how people in relationships change, but she knows him and he could not "be stuck on" her if she didnt. Almost like the changes they go through as individuals don't matter because they know the hearts of each other. The verse about him swimming (or sleeping...i guess it could be either but it sounds most like swimming) really reminds me of the Bright Eyes song "First Day of My Life"....the idea of meeting someone who opens your eyes and makes you feel as though your life is just beginning. That his eyes were dark...as opposed to being bright...and that opening your eyes to everything is just the beginning. "Now i see you, to kingdom come, you're the one i want"....i think this is obvious. He'll love her till they reach heaven (kingdom). How he wants her to see him for him, even if he does stupid things, things that are out of character maybe, because she knows him, she'll still see who he really is inside. The chorus i think is just about death, how even when they are six feet under, and kept just like they were when they were together....how they eventually turn in to flowers "blooming up from the ground". The title of the song comes from a military tradition during funerals: to fire 3 rounds of fire and then playing a tune on a bugle. Basically i just think it is about being with someone and loving them for who they are. Believing in your relationship above all other things...but then this is all just what i get from the song, i think it means different things to different people. |

| Bright Eyes – You Will. You? Will. You? Will. You? Will. Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I think this song is Conor realising what this girl means to him. From the beginning he says "Well you say that i treat you like a book on a shelf, I dont take you out that often because I know i completed you"...This indicates she says to him he doesnt take her out and show her off that much, she doesnt feel valued or loved by him, and possibly feels that she doesnt complete him, even though he completes her. When he says "How awful that must feel" its almost as though hes realising what he's doing to her. The second verse could be both of their opinions, its a really ambiguous song anyway, but I took it as she was saying that she could be his dream if he wanted, they could be together every night, and he shouldn't worry because she is the recurring kind. It could be that she is saying, "You never really leave my mind" about herself, saying she never leaves his mind, because thats what she wants him to feel. It could be though, on the more romantic note, that he is realising what she is to him, and that he realises that she never leaves his mind. The third verse he questions her love, and i think its very clear this verse is the only verse that is in his perspective. He says he has questioned whether she is the love of his life. That maybe its just childhood love. Built on the foundations of their dreamlike childhood where they kissed/touched/fucked in the attic. By the end of the third verse you can really see his own feelings for this girl coming out. He says he wishes they were there now, maybe wanting to escape adult life, back to something more innocent. The fact he says he's taken so long to realise what this book is all about. The whole idea of the book runs through the whole song, from the first verse, to the third, and then on to the final lines. Its the story of them. He's finally figuring out what she means to him. The last verse is the most complicated i think. He is writing her letters he knows she wont ever read...it makes you wonder why...are they not together anymore?...does he feel like he cant tell her things? I think the last verse is mainly what she said to him, "Go explore those other women The geography of their bodies But there's just one map you'll need. You're a boomerang you'll see. You will return to me." I think she is saying this to him, and i think its partly out of her own uncertainness...i know being a girl sometimes i say things like that because i want them to confirm it for me. "You will return to me"...it makes room for the person you are saying it to to say "Of course i will". Also i think the "You Will. You? Will. You?" The questions and statements "You will." is her being certain of their love, and then the "Will you?" is her shadow of doubt that is affecting her. The ending is still what she is saying to him i think. She is saying if you dont come home then the whole of the story of our love is a lie. And that she will start drinking like she did before. I think this is a sad way of ending the song. In some ways it shows how much she has built her life around him, but not once does it show his feelings for her and about their future. Though i think in some ways this whole song is his way of reassuring her. Thats my opinion anyway! I could go on forever. Truly amazing song. |
