I think it means that like, when that one person is around you, you can't really concentrate on anything else but them- it's like everything is disappearing around you, besides that person. If you've ever seen like, West Side Story, when Tony first sees Maria and stuff ,everyone around them is blurry besides each other- they're all they see. It's SO ADORABLE. This is the first Of Montreal song I ever heard and it won me over. I wanna see them play on Halloween :) |

to be honest, i'm not entirely sure what this song means. i mean like, with those lines like 'finger tips are relationships' and 'your good to me when only flesh' it makes it sound like the guy and girl don't really love each other, you know? like the 'i love love' jaun is just fake. i mean, they THINK they're inlove because they're going preeeeetty far sexually and stuff, but it's just a joke because they probably don't have true feelings for the person cause they're only good when they're flesh ;) you knowwwww? |

this song to me is how the a younger guy is at an older party, and he's all lost and confused and seeing what's happening around him is making him sick. and then he ends up getting raped by this girl. it's a pretty cool song, not as good as some of their others though. |

I didn't really read anyone else's responses to this song because I'm kindof eager to say something, butttt... I totally think this song is about a couple forced to break up because of college. like, when he says "i still miss your summer perfume/ this cold air brings such a distance to us/ such a painful distance" he's talking about their last summer together, and how he can still smell her scent in the heat, and the cold air rips it all apart. and "i miss our midnight rides on highway 18.../ 18 is gone" is talking about their late night drives on, of course, highway 18, and 18 is gone because they're forced to grow up and away from each other. "so i can understand why we put this at rest why we forget to say that we were leaving say that we were sorry" is how the guy is just left dumbfounded at the fact that she broke up with him because he thought they were perfect. and the end is his painful realization of that they weren't perfect, they're still young, and she left him to live her life. idunno, that's just what i get outof it, but recetnly i've been getting htat out of a lot of songs ahhaha |
