deff one of my fave blink tunes. my dad and i are planning a roadtrip through jersey sometime before the end of the summer and i'm hopin to meet up and hang out with a beautiful girl that i met, became friends with, and got her number from at one of the most amazing camps ever at berklee in boston. unfortunately she doesnt live along the shore but i'm hopin to go to wildwood or asbury park with her just to hang out for an entire day.

gonna try to make this as short as possible haha. few months ago my friend in homeroom told me about a girl he knew that needed a prom date and asked if i'd be interested in going with her. he gave me her number and i texted her when i got home. she said she "juuust got a date today" which i was totally fine with. it wasnt until the following monday night that i realized shes a complete bitch. i wont give details but basically i found out on facebook one of her friends knew and the entire rest of the week i felt like at least half the school was on my case. but now when i listen to this song i kinda dont regret it cause i know what comes around goes around and i wanna go to college for music, so if i'm successful i'll be the one to come back and have the last laugh. its also given me inspiration to write her number somewhere so everyone can see and say CALL FOR A GOOD TIME in huge letters haha. |

i heard this song last night on my way home from a high school football game two towns up from where i live. i'd just hung out with some girl i'd worked with over the summer, whom for the past few weeks i thought i had a little crush on but then realized i didnt. but we just hung out cause we enjoyed each others company. anyway on the way home, we drove through another town where a girl i used to have the HUGEST crush on lived (she had no interest in me and kept having bf's). when the chorus came up, we drove by her school's football game "somewhere in the distance, out of sight." at that moment, i had the strangest feeling in the pit of my stomach haha.
so in short, i interpret this song as a guy whos mostly moved on but then suddenly notices reflections of his past flash before his eyes. even though i'm probably totally wrong haha. |

one of those songs that just captures certain moments in time. kinda what it does for me. even though there really was no "love-affair" involved, it just takes me back to September 08: homecoming game, parties, the music I liked, and just a bunch of carefree sophmores all in good moods, starting the school year off fresh after a long, relaxing summer.
the one thing that truly annoyed me though was when I heard the homecoming dance was "cancelled," but they had one anyway and no one told me so I missed it. but now when I hear the line "danced in the night," I remember the halftime show at the top of the bleachers, "piano man" coming on over the PA system and my friend and his ex dancing. |

I 100% agree with beckStein. I got a crush on this girl from my school whos a senior, and I'm a sophmore which makes it harder. but its a start so thats good. I still got the summer, a band, and the idea to cover this song. two guys in the band are seniors that know her and we might be playing some grad parties this summer. but even if I dont ask her out, its not like I'm in *TOO* deep yet.
today I had this on Myspace Playlist and suddenly found myself involuntarily dancing around the house (not crazy, more like a late 70s-early 80s strut, like John Travolta in the intro of SNF lol). |

I wouldnt call whoever posted these lyrics a moron. Jimmy Buffett covered this song back in '83 on his 'One Particular Harbor' album and made slight changes to the lyrics. So the lyrics submitted here aren't exactly wrong, just a different version. Just in case anybody got confused as to why they are the way they are. I'm just glad they didnt post the 'radio edit' version lol. Kickass song btw, reminds me of this brown eyed cutie I got a crush on from my school. I also disagree with the anal sex theory, I think thats just absurd, its really just about teenage lust and romance. Besides Idk why the same guy that wrote Moondance and Into the Mystic would ever write a song about anal sex. You want a song about stuff like that, listen to Hurts So Good by John Mellencamp lol. |

I'd like to say that this is by far my fave summertime bar song. Who can resist those summer images going through their head? I can feel the temp rising just thinking about it. I'll give you some examples:
"you know that chick that used to dance alot..." - Dancefloor in either a bar or maybe a roller rink.
"remember that time over at johnnys place..." - Small get together or big party of late teens/college kids over at a friends house. In fact, I have a neighbor named John lol.
"friday night theyll be dressed to kill..." - an imaginary Dino's bar and grill with a fight scene, booze, etc; and this actual 1950s style BBQ called PJ's. (yes I know, but its the closest thing we have to Dino's around where I live lol)
"that jukebox in the corner blastin out my favorite song..." - I'd like to know who can resist listening to that line. Deff one of the more stand-out lines for me. You dont need me to explain what I see lol. |

This song will always remind me of when I went out to San Francisco for a Make-A-Wish trip to meet Journey after a kidney transplant. My family and I actually got a chance to go in the studio with them while they were working on the new album. Joe Satriani was there too, no joke! Can't wait til the album comes out on June 3! Also can't wait for the concert with Heart and Cheap Trick in Saratoga NY on August 24, 4 days before my birthday. |
