and what ya'll are saying...no. With her saying 'I am my own' she's not giving ANY credit to god. She's saying "I am invincible" I can not be moved by anything... The bible says YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN [you were bought with a price" She's standing for herself and herself alone in her own self-righteous mind. |

| Showbread – The End (Anorexia) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Yeah, you ruined it...but more so than that she's not reaching for God. She says she's looking for ...'something' And us as people try to fill that something with everything else besides God. 'Looking for love in all the wrong places' And she's trying to find that something and please herself by building her tower...to where she finds takes her nowhere. She wasn't reaching for God... |

I disagree. This girl's not ditzy, she has enough brains to think of ways to keep all eyes focused on her... It talks about an 'attention slut.' She wants what she wants. She's the best, no one is as good as me at anything. And the SONG [chorus] is pretty much saying all of this is going to catch up to you. And the last line of the chorus is my favorite... "You can even spell your own name. How impressive" Pretty much saying, you're not special... |

| Showbread – Naked Lunch Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Amidst all these good explanations, it's being a little over analyzed. In plain" black-n-white", it's talking about how none of us really have a right to judge anyone. It starts out pretty much saying "I can't express in how many ways I don't like you. You want to do all this stuff, but you can't because my opinion of you says so..." It then goes on to say, You know I'm not perfect either, but you're WAY worse than me.You make me sick..." THEN [which like in the book] starts talking about ways to get your mind off yourself by using substances... |

BUY THE CDs...SERIOUSLY. [I REFUSE to give away the story]At this point in anorexia, she is visited by a pig, the pig starts out sounding sweet, then once she's already in its grasp, sees it for what it really is... It goes hand in hand with the lyrics. She does what SHE wants, until she realizes she made a mistake, and can;t find her way out. |

| Showbread – The Bell Jar Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song has everything to do with Slyvia Plath. Her book "The Bell Jar" was a semi-autobiographical book about HER life. Josh's writing style is highly influenced by Sylvia Plath. I just recently did a research paper on her, and have come to find she and josh have similar writing patterns. Sylvia had a rough life. Got married, had two kids, got divorced...and in the end she killed herself [gassing herself with her oven]. I honestly believe the last stanza of the song were equivilent to her thoughts before she took her life. |

In The "anorexia" "nervosa" CDs. There are stories of the pair of sisters Anorexia and Nervosa. There are also SIDE STORIES of a pair of sisters. One works in a childrens facility, the other in a strip club. If you've seen the pig video [nervosa] You may not understand it. The video goes with the side story in nervosa. Just buy the CDs and read the stories before you really criticize these works of showbread. |

I will say this about their new "anorexia" & "nervosa" CD's. -If you don't BUY the CD and READ the stories along with it, you WILL NOT understand the lyrics to the full potential you were meant. The story goes hand in hand with the lyrics. It's almost as if Josh had so much to put into it, he didn't want to make it all a song. It explains it in two different ways...at the same time. Buy the CDs... |
