| Drive-By Truckers – Loaded Gun in the Closet Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
He's afraid that she'll leave her because he knows he doesn't deserve her, but he also knows that he needs her. He keeps a loaded gun in the closet because he knows that, since she is so wonderful, she would only ever actually leave him if she were incredibly angry, perhaps during an argument...angry enough to shoot him. If she ever leaves him, he *wants* her to kill him because he won't want to live. Although perhaps he doesn't appreciate all she does for him, but he similarly does not appreciate his own life because he is with this unattractive women who he doesn't love, despite her devotion to him. As such, he understands that she would want to kill him, but he also does not particularly want to live. Just my interpretation. I love the Truckers. Their poetry is incredible. |

| Alice Cooper – No More Mr. Nice Guy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's about a guy who is incredibly nice and an otherwise very good person, but people treat him like scum because he's different than them. In the chorus, he comes out and says that he's not going to take it anymore, and he's just going to burst out and become everything they expect him to be. Of course, he wouldn't do that, but he's saying he should. |

| Ritchie Valens – La Bamba Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
A rough translation: If you're gonna dance The Bamba, you need a little grace. A little grace for me, a little grace for you. Come on! Come on! For you, I'll be [whatever you want me to be]. I'm not a sailor; I'm the captain [I'm loyal and responsible]. "La Bamba" is just the name of the dance. |

| Velvet Revolver – Superhuman Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's about a woman whose way into drugs, but, since she's not a superhuman woman, she's just gonna die, and she might as well just kill herself, because that's what she's doing anyway, but her preferred course of action is much more painful, drawn-out, and damaging to those around her. | |
| Velvet Revolver – Do It For The Kids Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I've always thought this song was about life is different once you have kids. "Went too fast, I'm out out luck" - I had kids, woops. "And I don't even give a fuck" - Well, I like my kids, so I'm cool with it. "Let's all meet at the station, no heavy concentration" - Let's hang out together, but don't get wasted because there'll be kids. "Should we go out later" - Let's go out alone; we'll leave the kids at home. "Showtime for a stranger" - We'll hire a babysitter. Or I could be completely wrong, but hey, you never know =D |
