I'm never happy about the fact that this world has such a vast and plentiful supply of douche bags such as TREXOR who think that just because they say a song (or anything for that matter) sucks that the rest of us should conform to his or her opinion... Fuck you, you ignorant shit pumps and stop spammin' up the fucking comment section with that garbage is about all I have to say about those ass hats. |

This is a totally underrated song... Lyrically, it's fairly cryptic, as quite a few MM songs are. However, once the listener finds his/her own personal meaning out of it, it's very easy to lose one's self in the soothing and quietly optimistic sound of the music. I think both lyrics and music are sheer genius by themselves and when put together you have a MM masterpiece. This song = Mental Peace |

I think this song is about him coping with what was going on in his life at the time... ie his divorce. i'm pretty sure a lot of people would "feel like this song" if you will, if they all of a sudden broke up with someone they loved. i know this song would be my mantra if that happened to me. just kinda not do anything and stare of into space while listening to amusing music. |

this is song is, in fact, an excellent song i just noticed its kind of an "acquired taste" piece of music though. Once you listen to it a few times it'll start to grow on you. |

silly tool fans... can't just listen to the music and be done with it. have to automatically label every tool song a mysterious question and or answer to the universe... seems to me like just cause u think u have this brilliantly eye opening experience in life that supposedly allows u to see things in life "normal" people can't doesn't mean ur correct. ever think ur just taking too many drugs, or maybe your just delusional, mentally retarded, nuts, crazy, fucking bonzo? maybe some of us normal people r right... maybe we r just meat with eyes that'll eventually wind up as maggot food... period |

that'd be hilarious... if all these "spiritual" nuts called tool fans... and anyone else who fit that description found out that there is no "higher power" or afterlife and all this we are all one consciousness horse shit turned out to be just that. and, when we die, we essentially become maggot food and uhhh thats about it. i'd laugh my ass off if i knew this was fact. |

I'd have to say Metallica's favorite theme amongst a large portion of their songs is insanity... what better to sing about an archaic elder god shrouded in a dark, mysterious fog of madness. H.P. Lovecraft and Metallica two brilliantly creative forces of the 20th century. Thanks for the nightmares =P |

achilles wasn't a god... his mother made him nearly god-like by dipping him in the river styx (i think) when he was an infant. and the only reason he wasn't a complete god was because his mother was holding him by the right ankle when she dipped him and she began to pull him back out before the water could soak his heel. therefore, the only part of achilles that wasn't immortal was his heel. hence the term "achilles' heel" implying a "weakness" of some sort. that was how he died actually, as well. I forget who found out about his heel, but who ever did fired an arrow at his heel in battle as he was facing away. achilles' heel became gangreneous and he died from the infection shortly after. this song might be a conglomeration of metaphors for that very battle, in fact... well maybe i'm more of a factual, logical, literal kinda guy... i'm no good at metaphors and interpreting hidden meanings and all the shit. |
