In the early 20th century a "candyman" was either a drug dealer(as previously stated) or someone who was renowned for being lucky, especially with women. The later meaning does seem to fit the first stanza and refrain better. |

In the Annotated Grateful Dead lyrics website(the one started by David Dodd) there is a mention that "Bigfoot County" could be Del Norte or Humbolt county on the California/Oregon border, where there are many sightings of the beast and where it dumps snow. Anyone know of anything that might back that up or put it in a different location? |

It is a lot harder to control the effect of a bomb than a bullet. Even the so called "smart bombs" have collateral damage. It's not political. It's not military. It's simple physics. Bombs blow up, and people die without regard for silly things that we all put so much stock in. Things like who you support or what you believe. |

Okay everyone,
First: The band is The Flobots. No "w".
Second: "The song is about the idea that we have so much incredible potential as human beings to be destructive or to be creative. And it's tragic to me that the appetite for military innovation is endless, but when it comes to taking on a project like ending world hunger, it's seen as outlandish. It's not treated with the same seriousness", direct qutoe from Jonny 5.
Third: This song is not new. It was first released on "Flobots Present...Platypus" back in 2005. |

DNPinthePP, where exactly is the "liberal B.S." that you claim is so blatant? Because I can't seem to find any. Unless you meant that CIA hits and freeing railroaded and possibly innocent men qualifies. |

It's clear that it does refer to Lenin, since in the liner notes lyrics it's written "Russian like Vladimir". |

Does this song remind anyone else of "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington"? It sounds like a man with good intentions who ran up into a corrupt system and ran himself to death trying to work around it. His death revealed to those others just how wicked they actually were. |

I'm not sure if this had anything to do with the writing of this song, but it's an interesting note anyway. In the I Ching hexagram 56 is "the wanderer" formed by the trigram of fire over the trigram of mountain. It's overall meaning is of travel for the sake of travel being good for the soul. It seems to fit in nicely with the theme of the first and last stanzas, and, of course, the refrain. |

This song is great to re-energize a night out. This track came up on the CD as my friend was driving me home, we looked at each other and turned toward the highway, floored it, and went back into the city. We never did make it home that night... |

I agree with Failure, the first part of the song is about a skinhead, but I could be biased. This song hits a little close to home. There was a guy who used to live around the corner who went skinhead and got himself stabbed, he didn't get killed, but still... |

This song and Heavyweight by The Explosion are two of the most kick-ass fight songs ever! Play the two back to back and it really gets the adrenaline flowing. There's nothing like actually driving 100+ M.P.H. with those songs playing. |

I always thought that the line was "the same one that's in the parking lot reloading the snub" as in snub-nosed revolver. |
