| It's funny how happy this song sounds but it definitely is about a relationship that was never meant to last. nelia_slye_ really has the point of it. I just relate to this song a lot... and it sucks. | |

Now this is just me going out on a limb, but it sounds like a winter romance. This boy found love in the darkest season of the year. It sounds like since he's been in love, he's found all of the wonderful things about winter that people overlook. :) Well, besides my interpretation, this song is just GORGEOUS and Brack is honestly a god. Hah. <3 |

My favorite part of the entire song (BESIDES the AWESOME vocals at the beginning) is the chorus: I won't soothe your pain I won't ease your strain You'll be waiting in vain I've got nothing for you to gain I was reading the end of Eclipse while listening to this song, with the whole conflict between Bella and Jacob, and even though I'm sure this song is about Bella and James, I really love it because I feel like Bella is saying those words to Jacob, you know? I hope this isn't spoiling anything for anyone, but I just felt so bad for Jacob because his intentions are so good, and Bella really means NO harm to him. It's just like her trying to tell him that she's not going to do any good for him by being around, and having him wait around for her is just silly and pointless because she can't do him any good. Sorry, it's kind of a silly interpretation because the rest of the song has nothing to do with Bella & Jacob but it's my personal connection. :) Anyway, it's a wonderful song! I love it, and think it was wonderful in Twilight. |

AT LAST! I THINK I GOT IT! :) "it's an unfamiliar song you said you'd like to sing along but you couldn't change the key i can't sing, it doesn't suit me." Okay, it's the one part I never quite could interpret, but it finally clicked. Well I think here they're talking about their failing relationship. The "unfamiliar song" is their relationship. It's just not working out. The guy would like to "sing along", meaning he'd LIKE to try and go on pretending that everything is okay but he "couldn't change the key" just can't adjust for it to work out with the rest of his life. Then it sounds like the girl is saying that she'd also like to have the relationship work, but she knows it won't work either. |

| The Cranberries – Dreams Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Wow ... I already loved this song, but then reading the lyrics just made me love it WAY more. It's so sad that I discovered the beauty of this song just now, because it describes EXACTLY how I fell in love with Lex. I thought I had already gone through the whole "head over heels" process, but no ... this was the real deal. "I know I've felt like this before but now I feel it even more." I was so in love with him. It was unexpected. My life took a whole new different direction. I was the happiest I had ever been ... everything felt like a DREAM. It's too bad "Linger" describes how things ended. I love the Cranberries. I miss Lex. | |

Is it just me or does it sound like a girl is getting broken up with? "You didn't say the words I would have said" sounds like the girl is saying that they didn't get told what they wanted to hear ("I love you", "I want us to stay together", something along those lines), but she knows that her lover couldn't help the "doubt" that filled their head, or falling out love with her, because you can't hate someone because their feelings change. Their relationship was just an "ordinary try". You can't help things like that, it's a part of life: "We learn to live, we live to die." It's kind of like the girl is saying this to reassure herself that things will be okay. And then it goes back to the girl talking about her response to their break-up, her face in a forced smile with nothing to reply with. Then the next stanza is a little confusing, but it kind of sounds like she's kind of talking to herself like, "When you wake up alone, just keep singing alone. It will be okay." So then it sounds like she's talking more to herself saying, "I'm not what you write in your books, and no I'm nothing like a song," because she's convincing herself, "I'm not perfect. I'm not the sweet perfect love image you've always had in your head." Then the whole, "And will you answer me / I alread know / I asked you an answer / but I already know / And can you come back home / You already know / You don't ask / 'Cause you already know" sounds like the girl being so desperate for him to be her's again and begging ... but already knowing the rejection she'll have to face, so sure of herself. And the lover knows he can come back home,, if he ever chooses to. He'll never have to ask, because she'll always be waiting ... As for what other things I didn't mention I'm not really sure ... I would love to know what people think of the "It's an unfamiliar song / You said you'd like to sing along ... etc" part. There's a part of that stanza that I really like though: "And when I wake up freezing, but know half believing, it was this I feared." Probably just because I can relate to it. It's like, ever since the break-up, I go to sleep heartbroken, hoping that everything will change when I wake up. Then I wake up, half-denial and half-believing. It's like, "This can't be really happening ... things were never supposed to fall apart. But they did. Shit." Haha. Yeah ... |

| Azure Ray – Across the Ocean Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Oooh! And I forgot to mention the, "With the same shoes just longer hair" line. It's not like it's a big deal, but it's basically just saying she's been gone traveling for a long time, but she's still the same person. The only thing that's changed is her appearance. | |

| Oh, and I didn't say anything about the photoobooth picture thing, but it's pretty self-explanatory, I'm sure. | |

Maybe I'm looking too much into it ... but ever since my boyfriend and I broke up I've been finding that SO many Azure Ray songs have to do with relationships. Or I could just want them to be about relationships. Haha. Anyway ... this is what I think this song means: It sounds like a girl who had a lover once. One she truly and wholeheartedly loved, but the lover passed away. So almost immediately after the passing, she traveled around the world, escaping the pain she felt by placing herself far away in unfamiliar lands. Then finally, after traveling in foreign surroundings, she finds herself in very familiar territory. Where her lover once lived. Then the line, "Remember I was always freezing / And now I'm covered up in snow" sounds like a metaphor to me. Like the girl kind of always took her lover for granted. So it's kind of like she's saying, "Remember I always complained about you never being there? But now you're really gone ..." As for the "Just give me some kind of sign / Is this the right place / Or the right time?", it really sounds like a, "Pinch me I'm dreaming," kind of thing. It sounds like she's using all of her foreign traveling (jet lag, you know) is a good excuse to ask, "Is this the right place or the right time?" kind of thing. Anyway ... that was probably a crappy interpretation, but it's what I think of it. XD |
