The Holloways – Most Lonely Face Lyrics 17 years ago
The family grave bit is him offering her a way out. I think he wanted to rescue her and marry her and spend the rest of their lives together and then death too.
he loves her and wants to save her but he couldnt hold on as she'd already given up hope.

Arctic Monkeys – The Bakery Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is really simple but in my mind describes perfectly a teenage crush/infatuation.
He hopes to see her where ever he goes, and has even been going to particular places to find this girl, hence "why not the rounders pitch or the canteen
you're slacking love, where have you been?" but keeps missing her.
In the post office, he may have missed her without realising because he was too busy trying to think of ways to impress her when he finally does meet her.
The last line, "you probably wouldn't have seen me" reminds me of a line in strange and beautiful by aqualung that goes "you turn every head but you don't see me"
it's the same idea that he is so aware of her, all he thinks about is her and she doesn't even know he exists.
i dont think shes ignoring him, she's just not aware of him which is why he hopes to be introduced at the "mutual friend's gathering" but as he knows deep down inside this will never really happen and although they may be brilliant together they'll never have a chance because it seems to be their fate never to meet, or as alex says it wonderfull...
"to never meet is surely where we're bound"

this is just a song about a girl he's crazy about nut knows he'll never be with.
he's not in love with her, it's just a crush but in the song he's mourning the opportunity.
:)
