Oasis – Supersonic Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, the two lines
"Cos my friend said he'd take you home
He sits in a corner all alone"
remind of when i was interested in this one guy, but his friend (who I didn't like at all) was like obsessed with me. He was worried about us being together because he said it might hurt his friend. So, those lines remind me of the stuff the guy said to me about how I treated his friend...
But I guess Noel wasn't really thinking of that when he wrote the song :-)

Oasis – Slide Away Lyrics 17 years ago
This is one of the best songs ever written. The acoustic version with Noel singing is a billion times better than Liam singing.
I think this song is about loving someone so much. When it's sung (at least by Noel), it's like it doesn't matter what the exact words are, you can just feel the love and the want, you know? I don't know...that's just how I feel about it.
It's so beautiful.

New Order – Dreams Never End Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song is kind of about the band moving away from being Joy Division and Ian Curtis. "No looking back, now we're pushing through. We'll change these feelings, we'll taste and see. But never guess how the him would scream." Those last lines seem to suggest that they're trying to move forward but there will always be that part of them thinking about Ian...I don't know. That's kind of lame, but whatever.
I love Hooky's voice on this! He sang this song because his voice is more similar to Ian's than Bernard's, so I think that in itself is indicative that they are trying to find their own direction but not forgetting that they were once Joy Division.
The music for this is great, too!! It gets stuck in my head really easily though :-)

Joy Division – Ceremony Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, first off this is the best song ever written and has beautiful music to go along with it. But the lyrics are actually "define it all" instead of "they find it all". I got those lyrics from the booklet with the Joy Division boxed set so I'm sure that they're correct. I think this song definitely has to do with death but also with love and there is something very fragile and very vulnerable about it. Ian Curtis definitely put himself into a lot of his music and I think that Ceremony is no exception. I do think it is interesting, though, that the music was kind of written before the lyrics. The band played some music they had written and Ian mumbled out some lyrics. Apparently with their poor recording equipment and his lack of annunciation they had to use a graphic equalizer to even understand what he was saying. But it was well worth because, as I stated before, this is the best song ever.
