The Wombats – Let's Dance To Joy Division Lyrics 17 years ago
Love this song, simply because it takes the Joy Division song and say that it's okay, let's let love tear us apart, let us fall into a blind blissful state; because there's a truth hidden in there, much like the truth Nietzsche told in accordance to Dionysius' myth; namely that sometimes we must spiral out of control.

So let's dance to Joy Division!

Thrice – Lullaby Lyrics 17 years ago
One of the Thrice songs that simply fails lyrically. One thing is to criticize John Lennon's idea, because it's inhumane (in the true sense of the word), but the christian undertone fails on its own premisse. John Lennon's concept in Imagine is pretty similar to that of Heaven. Even more, if it's a response to Imagine, then it's also creating a strawman, like with the "no right or wrong", which is never implied in the song.
Honestly I hope he didn't react on this based on his religious beliefs, because it's just hypocritical; Imagine & christianity are both mirages of transcendance. He says it himself "you say that you're a dreamer, but I'm a dreamer too, and I won't sing your lullaby"; it's like the pot calling the kettle black.

Good song, not so well-constructed lyrics.

PS! "Imagine" is an awful song, so don't think I'm saying this because I'm a crazed John Lennon fan.

Wamdue Project – King of My Castle Lyrics 17 years ago
It's quite simple really. The term "Ghost in the Shell" and "Ghost in the Machine" has to do with the consciousness in relation to the body.
Being the "King of My Castle" refers to the state of being in control of oneself. What this song is asking is for a reason why it is so that we are free to rule within the captive body; why we're free within our prison. It does pre-suppose a ghost in a shell in some form.

Of course, the song itself is more expressionistic since it's ludicrous to pre-suppose a need for a reason why thing are as they are.

The Hoosiers – Cops & Robbers Lyrics 17 years ago
@curefangx13x:
You need to educate yourself before you make such wild accusations. I can admit that the first thing I thought about when I heard the opening is Lovecats; however, if anyone bothered listening on the two songs they'd notice it's much more the feel, than an actual rip-off. (the only thing remotely rip-off is the short bit equal to E|--0-3-5, which I'd be surprised if no one had used before The Cure)

Some people also need to understand that finding something that's not borrowed from some other influence is extremely hard.
