to be more exact, i think it is about Oxycontin( Synthetic Heroine )... just makes more sense with the name "Pharmaceutical Bandits/ RX Bandits " "her taste was so familiar" the literal taste from the crush up pill when snorted "She holds me when I�m shaking it makes me better Only for the night" he is talking about relapsing again when you start to withdraw from not using oxy(shaking) and it gets you high for just the night, but only for the night, because the next day your just chasing the high again i discovered this song on my first day of sobriety from abusing oxycontin for 2 and a half years.. and I SAY I DONT NEED HER... AND ITS THE TRUTH! |

I feel like this song could be about "Jacob" struggling with alcoholism. "jacob stands on snakes. and finds his life in shame. they will make their plea. trust in the disease" -- people agree that alchoholism is a disease, and these "snakes" that he is standing on could be the people or friends that are "pleading" or forcing/tempting him to drink again. "one last drop of pain. the fighting's all in vain. one last antidote. forgotten ties on severed ropes." -- "jacob" could be relapsing at this point and realizing that it was a huge mistake to. and also he realizes that the fights and quarrels when drunk are very useless and have empty meaning " one last drop of pain, the fightings all in vain ,one last antidote" "aimed at the heart of my beloved" -- could be about how alchohol can destroy family, friendships, or a beloved someone. thats what i think ;) Jordan |

all i can say is wow my friend showed me this song yesterday for the first time and i am absolutely hooked, first time iv heard of the silversun pickups. the voices male and female in this song are so tasteful sounding, i dont resemble a smashing pumpkins sound to be honest, but thats just my opinion. the climax is ABSOLUTELY fantastic, one of the best iv heard, the screaming in his voice just adds the intensity so perfectly. rock on |
