The Script – Breakeven Lyrics 16 years ago
I'm agreeing with everyone else's concept.

When I listen to it though, I always hear "'Cos when her heart breaks, it don't break even" Instead of 'a'.

So I immediately caught on to the meaning.

He's suffering from the break-up, and it seems like though the girl has hurt from it as well, she was much stronger and capable of moving on.

Atomic Kitten – You Are Lyrics 16 years ago
Very beautiful song.

Though some of the lyrics are wrong.

It should be "I'd say that I'm emphatic" instead of "I'd say that I'm in fat ache"

Jade Valerie – Lucky Lady Lyrics 17 years ago
One of my favorites from Ms. Jade Villalon =D.

The song is pretty self-explanatory; She's recalling past relationships she had been in, possibly even literally writing love letters to her past lovers.

While she recalls these relationships, there is a sense of bad luck in love for her. She's lucky to be going to California (which I would assume she also means going to Hollywood) and basically having everything together, and just being that lucky 'one-in-a-million' to hit the limelight, but at the same time, she's not lucky when she's in love, which could be for many reasons.

A simple song, but like many of Jade's songs, the meaning is deep.

Evanescence – You Lyrics 17 years ago
"What's done is done" Any of that sound familiar to you guys?

I love Amy Lee and I love Evanescence... But this been going on for maybe three or four years (I'm assuming that, I discovered this song in 2004/2005)

Nothing been done to fix the situation well enough for us to never hear of this song ever again, so drop it, I understand we have some elite fans commenting over here, but really, stop, you're wasting your time trying to have this song deleted from this page. The song may very well be in over hundreds of millions of people's home computers, office computers, etc. Just stop, what's done is done.

ANYWAY

This is a beautiful song. I didn't know it was a leaked song untiil last year, but I couldn't bring myself to deleting this song, it's too precious, too meaningful, too beautiful. Thank goodness this song didn't go as far as being leaked onto the radio, such a beautiful song would be destroyed by being played out.

I want to see more work like this coming from Amy, she always wrote such deep lyrics, but these lyrics touched me the most!

Lasgo – Heaven Lyrics 17 years ago
I've seen love like this, the other person can just keep hurting you and hurting you, but you still find yourself still loving them, still needing them.

He never really felt the same way for her, and messed around with her for a bit while they were together. But, all of that cancels out because she feels that he is all she'd need, he's her angel who'd take away any suffering she had.

"And I know you can't stay." She knows he's not coming back to her, nor is he going to be with her forever.

Utada Hikaru – About Me Lyrics 17 years ago
There are two mistakes in the lyrics
"Who knows if it could be good for you after all" There's no "quite" before the word good

And
"Is it okay if I'm not cute and naive"
Not cute at night.
----------------
Anyway, this song has a lot of meaning to it, she seems to be pointing out questions that aren't really asked in marriage, and being fully honest about herself and the way she feels about her love interest.

"You can be shady, what you going through?"
"Baby you're not a very honest person, you say you're sure that you love me, how could that be when you keep so much from me?"

She also points out that you don't always know everything about the person you're proposing to, you know most, but not enough to say you know them inside and out. "Are you really ready to know more about me?"

Liz Phair – Favorite Lyrics 17 years ago
The song isn't ABOUT her favorite underwear, she's comparing her lover to her favorite underwear.

--------------------------
"Don't look sexy, but it just feels right
Not too dirty and it's not too tight
Why I never threw it out, I'll never know exactly why"

When you think of this in a lyrical manner, she's saying she doesn't know why she wouldn't throw the guy away.
--------------------------
"Keep it in the drawer beside my bed
It's faded pink now, but it used to be red
Starting to fray at the seams
But I know that you'll still love me"

Anyone else here who associates the colors red and pink with love? She's saying that the love used to be strong, but it's not as strong any longer, and it seems that it might be withering, or fraying, away. But she knows that under the dying intensity of the relationship, the significant other still loves her.
--------------------------
"Like you did, like you did
Like before, like before
Like we will, like we will
Be doin' it once more."
Follows the previous verse, saying that he still loves her the same way he did before, and in a sexual manner in the last two lines, they'll be loving eachother with the same amount of passion.
--------------------------
"Oh baby, know what your like?
You're like my favorite underwear
It just feels right, you know it
Oh baby, know how you feel?
You feel like my favorite underwear
And I'm slipping you on again tonight."

She's saying that he's like her favorite underwear, the color of the underwear will fade, likewise with the intensity of the romance, and underwear will wear away, like the romance itself. To her, it feels right. Starting to get it?
--------------------------
"Leave you lyin' on the bedroom floor
I leave you hangin' on the bathroom door
Take you for granted
But I'll always know exactly where you are"

Not everyone puts their underwear in the basket or in their drawers, some just leave it lying around. Same thing with relationships, some people just leave the other person lying around.

She's basically saying that she takes the guy for granted, but regardless, she knows where he'll be if she needs him
--------------------------
"Lost you once you were hard to find
Got you back, you didn't live like mine
Thought we were falling apart
But you make me feel so pretty"

The relationship went downhill at one point, and she lost the guy she was with. When she did get him back, he didn't look like the guy she had fell in love with at first, he changed. She thought their love was going to be lost, but she reminds him how he makes her feel beautiful, or pretty.
--------------------------
"Slipping you on again tonight
Wrap me and roll me, hold me tight
Tear me apart and make me new
Like you always do."

She is basically saying for him to hold her tight, wear her down and make her feel new, like he has done numerous times before.
--------------------------
"You feel...
You're like...
This is what I want
You feel, you feel..."

She's just repeating parts of the chorus, adding "This is what I want", meaning that the way she feels about him is the exact thing she wants.
--------------------------

I could be wrong, but that's how I look at the lyrics.
Sure underwear can be a cheesy thing to compare your lover to, but when you take Liz Phair's lyrics in this song, and actually read them, you start to interpret the song more easily, and notice that it's not "underwear" just because it looks like it is.
