Okay, I get a huge Hemingway vibes from this. The fatalistic old man that wishes he were young again, drinking himself to death. The big game hunter that lived a life of adventure and was anti-establishment. Pretty sure Mr. Condon read Old Man and the Sea and Green Hills of Africa. That's what I love about Beirut. I feel like the guys in the Lost Generation would listen to this. |
