I agree with shnazy and like said by Tourniquet Fauns that line does make sense. And the lips touching every hand, to me is God talking to you and saying that you followed everyone in the world and trusted them yet you didn't follow and trust Him. Before they leave, I think is talking about how you have to turn to God before you die and it's too late for you. When will you get back to me, I think means when will you turn back to God sense in the begginning there was no sin and you have to now turn back to God and be born again. "when will you recognize the beat of my own heart making your blood flow, so your chest can rise and fall" This is God telling us that He is the one who makes it so that we can live. Without Him we'd all be dead. "when you choose me, Im waiting for you, always waiting" Here I think God is saying that He will always be waiting for you and will never give up. When you turn to Him He will be full of joy. So yah, that really is my views on this song. I think all of Flyleaf's songs were meant to be about God but you can take them other ways if you don't believe in Him, I guess. Just remember that God wants you to turn to Him and He is waiting for you. Please, don't wait. "You're not guaranteed tomorrow"-Ocean Waves by Flyleaf. |

You can take it anyway you want, people saying the truth about the song doesn't mean you can't have your own opinion. The song can mean something different for you but just because it means something different to you doesn't mean that it's not about God. Go ahead and have your opinions but don't say that people saying the real meaning is absurd. | |

NO NO NO! Okay these comments are gonna make me burst! I haven't read all of them yet and I'm sure soime of them are right but just lemme correct a few things... 1. Lacey Mosley sounds nothing like Avril Lavigne! I use to love Avril (long ago) but now Lacey is my hero. And I don't think Avril can actually sing. Ever heard her live? Hurts my ears... Please do not take offense if you like Avril! I use to lover her! 2. This song is not about hating sell-outs its about how sometimes this world can be so difficult and it just makes you sick. It makes you want to scream. Lacey explains in an interview that that is how she use to feel but when you feel like that and when you just want to give up you have to grab onto new hope. And our only hope is God/Jesus Christ. 3. Just because you are a born again Christian does not mean you don't have emotions such as anger. Being a Christian can be very frustrating when you see all the sin and hatred around you and no one understands you and people think that you must be perfect and never do anything wrong because you are a follower of God. 4. This song is not about sex. "You sink into my clothes. This invasion makes me feel worthless, hopeless, sick." I think this is about how the awfulness of this world is everywhere and clings to you and sinks into you. It makes you feel SICK! I could go on for so long but I am ready to move on to the next Flyleaf song. Their songs are so packed with meaning I can't get enough with them! I am not trying to offend anyone by my comments and I guess people can take the meanig of the song for themselves different ways. I was just trying to explain how Lacey meant it when she wrote this song and how I see it. If I did offend anyone I am very sorry. |

Okay Zakuro I don't even know you but I wan to hug you. -hugs- (I am super sorry if that sounded creepy!) To me this song is about how really good friends can help you through rough times. They can catch you when you fall and put you back on your feet. You can also think about God that way. He will always catch you and set you straight again. He will never betray you no matter how many times you betray Him. He will always forgive you if you ask for Him to. |

Lately I've been really in a "emo" (I hate that word!) mood. This word really is beautiful though. Helps out alot. It really shows how much God can change your life around. In this world I find so I hard, I find so beatiful. This world is soi full of awful things but when you look at it with the right eyes its wonderful. Makes you think of the new world God has in store for us and how beautiful it will be. -Loving God and listening to Flyleaf forever! |

Death and hardships have confused me for years. I always wandered why God would let it happen. Why He chose that person who was so full of love and care. The first time I listened to this song it just suddnely all made sense. I just found out my grandma has cancer. She's not my mom's biological mom, she adopted her. But she was the woman who raised her, loved her, and gave her her faith. If my grandma hadn't adopted her my mom wouldn't have been a christian and I wouldn't have been here today. When I was little I asked my mom if she was upset that her real mom had gotten rid of her and she said no (after correcting me and saying grandma was her real mom. Her other "mom" was her biological mom) because she loved me and her other children, my dad, her parents, and God. I didn't understand then but now that we found out my grandma has cancer and have seen my mom cry because of it I do understand. This song has given me so much comfort through this time. I'm still sad that my grandma doesn't have much time left with us but I know she's going to heaven and I'll see her again. I know God has a reason for this. Right now I'm praying "Thank-you for giving her just one more day" and when she passes away I will be praying "Thank-you for ending her pain." I have many friends who do not share my beliefs and I pray for them everyday. Many say they can't believe in a God when there's so much pain everywhere. They should really listen to this song. Psssh! I won't be surprised when people tell me there's no use in praying once things start getting worse with my grandma. But I won't let them stop me. I love you grandma! Thanks Flyleaf for once again another amazing song that helps me with my life so much. |

Oh wow. I made an account here just because I wanted to comment on this song. I'm so odd eh... Anyways, I agree so much with alot of people here. Flyleaf's songs are so packed with meaning and each song can have so many different meanings to different people. I've been listening to alot of Flyleaf lately. I just found out my grandma has cancer and Flyleaf's songs really help comfort me. Especially Supernatural. Anyways(I say that word alot...), to me this song not only means that she is waiting for "the one" but also someone who shares your faith and knows the truth. And also that through all the hard times, and break ups, Jesus/God is there to comfort you like said: "And all these twisted thoughts I see Jesus there in between." "I'm not faithless, just paranoid of getting lost or that I might lose." This sections of words means to me that you still have hope for "the one" but that it scares you and you're kind of sick of waiting and all the pain you're going through. I'm still pretty young and worrying and thinking about "the one" isn't usually on my mind but I've talked it over with my mom and she said I should already be praying for God to bring us together. I've been trying to do that lately. I know I will get hurt, I've already been hurt by things, but I won;'t give up. I'M NOT FAITHLESS! I feel like I'm giving a speech or something... I'm such a dramtic thing... PS: Listening to this song right now. I love Flyleaf. :D |
