well, i think its about him having a really self centered and shallow girlfriend. "when i open up to you you only tell me that you like the view" this could mean looking at him, but not caring what he has to say "so dance the dance we used to dance when you cared less about the things that don't matter at all to anyone that i'd open my door to" suggests that after a while of being in a relationship, they dont seem to get along anymore, and shes causing arguments and they're scoring points of eachother by making petty comments.
