Anthony wrote this song about his dad.It says so in his book Scar Tissue.He wrote it because his father was dressing up as a woman to get roles in movies or something like that and one day Anthony got in a fight with him and Anthony called his dad a "fag." Anthony says that that was the worst fight they had ever had and things changed afterwords...Read the damn book and see what I mean! >. |

I STRONGLY agree with flaretheinferno.I really really really just strongly agree with him/her.I have been listening to this song over and over again.It reminds me of my old relationship for some weird reason.Maybe because like flaretheinferno said,it was a never ending relationship...and eh.Point being Mr.Homme is using "sex" as the metaphor for something else.Love the song...

I love both songs,acoustic or it's "rock" one.This is the first foo fighters song I heard and I heard this song was when I was 5 1/2 years old.I still remember it,it was my favorite song then,and it still is to this day.
This is the first song that I learned how to play on my guitar ENTIRELY,and sing along to while playing it.
This is one of the most beautiful love songs out there,and for people who think this song is about Kurt Cobain,please stick your heads outta your ass and just stop thinking Dave writes songs about him.

This song is not about KURT COBAIN.Mr.Grohl wrote this song about an old childhood friend of his that he was trying to get in touch with.I remember reading in this one other website that Dave Grohl really missed him and wanted to talk to him so he decided to name the song after him HOPING that he'd get in touch with Dave Grohl.
But this song has nothing to do with Mr.Cobain.And neither does every other Foo Fighter song out there.I do believe Kurt had a freat influence on Dave,but I just simply refuse to believe that every Foo Fighters song is about Kurt Cobain.

This Brand New song is a really great song,there's no damn doubt in that.I believe that this song is about a boy who's just with a girl who's only looking for sex.Sad but true.I mean the line clearly gives it away "He whispers that he loves her but she's probably only looking for..." and if you hear closely you can hear the "sssss" in there :P
