Small towns aren't exactly the most exciting places to live. They're giving a big "fuck you" to all of them because as teenagers, I bet they felt a lot of frustration being stuck in a mundane city. They want to "get out tonight" and do something fun, assuming from the whole tone of the song. I don't think there's any deeper meaning. To me, it's a literal song. |

Wow, I'm surprised at the lack of comments for this song, I thought it would be one of the top ones. Simple story told of rejection and longing. "Come on down reggae style, wind up your body like a bass line wild." Absolutely perfect. Totally sexy. |

"Wow.....slipknot should lay off the bong." LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Thank you for that. The fact that this song is about a childhood bully is really disturbing. How could Corey still produce enough hate for a kid he knew in the past to write these lyrics in the present? It's just not realistic. The emotions are fake; it's all for the shock value. Lame. I still think it's a cool song, though, especially the "Pull your hands away..." part. That's my favorite verse. |

I believe this song is about a death of a loved one. "I want to live where soul meets body And let the sun wrap its arms around me And bathe my skin in water cool and cleansing And feel, feel what it's like to be new" He wants to live in heaven where his friend/lover/family member is and to forget the pain of losing them. "Because in my head there's a Greyhound station Where I send my thoughts to far-off destinations So they may have a chance of finding a place Where they're far more suited than here" He doesn't want to deal with his thoughts because they remind him of his loved one, and would wish to send them away. "I cannot guess what we'll discover When we turn the dirt with our palms cupped like shovels But I know our filthy hands can wash one another's And not one speck will remain" I'm not sure about this one. Maybe the purity of heaven? Being reunited? "I do believe it's true That there are roads left in both of our shoes" His loved one left too soon, there were to many things they needed to experience with each other. "So, brown eyes, I'll hold you near Because you're the only song I want to hear A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere Where soul meets body" Being reunited in heaven, there's something more with the melody/song part but I can't put my finger on it. |
