Rise Against has a different point of view in their lyrics. They are about politics, animal rights and the environment from what I have heard. This song must be about how people must enjoy their life by doing what's good for them and not relying on other people as much. |

I think that most people would agree that this song has a simple meaning. But when I first heard it, I thought it was about government corruption like a reference to the rise of Hitler:
"Black forces
Rage in the vortex
Fighting
Waves of destruction
Swallowing
The echo of the universe"
But I doubt Petrucci wrote it for that purpose. |

First comment! Anyway, I think that this song is about how soldiers of war die with dignity and obtain respect from that. Also, I think that it is about how the heroes fall into the sand and become part of the earth. But they get respect from the divine. |
