tbh its obviously about cheating just from the opening... 'I'm so glad that your lipsticks on, back seat of your best friends car, well we were onto something here.' meaning he saw her lipstick on the backseat of another guys car, he thought they were on to something in the relationship but was wrong, hence the use of WERE not are. |

people have so many interpretations for this song, but mostly i reckon, simply, it shows the jealousy of knowing someone to have feelings for is with someone else. though just a random point, its amusing how quite a few couples have this as 'their song' and that mostly stems from the line 'it started out with a kiss how did it end up like this' but the song is purely about the person you love sleeping with someone else. fantastic couples song ^_^ |

To me this song is sort of self explanatory, the opening kind of sets up the meaning of the song. 'There's no mistakes to be made anymore for you and her, I sense you're cold You know that I'll always be there for you, and I know that I'll get this in your head' Its about a relationship between a guy and a girl ending, 'no mistakes to be made anymore for you and her' like they've messed up so much they can't mess up any more, 'i sense you're cold' like it cant be prevented because the guy just can't take anymore of the relationship but doesn't want to end it. but then best friend of the guy is trying to explain that everything will be okay, and he'll always be there and one day the friend will accept that his friend will be there for him. The rest of the song talks about how time won't effect the relationship between the guys because they'll always have each other to rely on. And i sort of doubt that it is about self harm (sorry), since the lyrics say 'Don't ever do that again, she's not worth it, no I cannot watch you die' Which looks like the guy tried to kill himself over the girl, but the bestfriend is trying to remind him that the girl isn't worth is, and he can't watch his friend fall to pieces and die because of her. Well you probably think thats rubbish, but this song means alot and brings back some strange memories because it can mean so much to so many people and its such a common thing to happen (well with out the suicide part). |
