sounds like yall got the beginning part right, but for the"I said it, we all regret it" part, i think it might mean how he did stand up for himself but maybe in the wrong way, like he lashed out and lost her/them/his testimony. he lost their respect and then it says "Give us cause to keep them breathing again this time" i think he might be talking to God asking Him if its really worth witnessing to them if they dont listen? idk, hopefully this helped |

im listenin to it right now..this is one of the greatest dead poetic songs ever, but for the meaning: i think it has to do w/ a friend and a role model that he did everything to keep happy "it took smiles to keep you alive" and would do anything to get that to happen but then they get depressed they dont realize what they have right beside them, all they want now is fame. so he gives up on them and lets them get fed by hollywoods and all the 'popular' peoples lies but all this did was make it worse till in the end they realized how wrong they were but it was too late. then in the end he's reflecting on how its all better now because they are in heaven and its all over. thats my opinion [yeah i type/ramble alot sorry] |

this is extremely meaningful to me. this is my life song right now. to me its sorta about how you are your own worst enemy kind of thing and then you are depressed but you hide it when you are w/ others so they cant see your pain, so the only time it shows is when your home [four walls] you want it to end and just die. its to me like everyone is gone and then God is just testing you, sitting back and watching to see if you'll pass. this may be off by a mile but its what it means to me, love ya dp |

this sounds like the singer is running from God, but is still writing about Him, he wants to come back but still keeps running. he knows what to do but can't get himself to do it? it also sounds like his fans might be questioning his loyalty to God in the second verse, and firmly stands up but then it sounds like maybe a fan asks for spiritual help and all he can do is point to the Bible and tell them its in there. good song but not sure if i know the right meaning |

i think this might be about the persecution Christians face, and how the persectutors are still around today, and how we must just face it, because in fighting it it just gets worse. the people rejoicing are according to one part in the bible where it says that you should rejoice in your persecution because you are building treasures in heaven. also, stephen might be stephen in the bible who was stoned to death after preaching to the religious leaders.

i agree with dr.chief117. i never knew they were the type of CHristian people singing secular songs so thats really cool! yea i just went through this too. i loved her SO much but she just wanted to have a really close guy friend she could talk to. my story isnt completely in sync with this but its pretty close, i have a damn regret that we got so close only to find out she just wanted for me to help her, but at the same time i still love her and i'm glad we got so close so its a mix of feelings that i think he's expressing. awsome song!!! |

i think this is about a "star" in the worlds eyes and how its really complicated to keep up w/ everyone else, and his gf/wife is trying to keep him grounded by letting him know he cant please every one and God will alwyas be the true hero, we can only be heros for a day.
