my interpretation is that a guy wants a girl to understand their relationship and realize it could be the best thing imaginable, if only she could see it and let it be. She's skeptical and not sure about the whole idea for whatever reason (afraid, etc.) so she doesnt put all her heart into it and not even sure what it could be. The guy wants to show her, wants her to escape with him to that place of bliss. So he will take her away (them being alone - away from everyone) to give her a taste of what it could be like, just him and her. he wishes to get into her mind that they can always be, as long as she believes,, just the two of them, all they'll ever need. so if she really cared about them being together, she wouldnt let anyone interefere with the way she feels about the guy just because she is skeptical and she'd be willing to go against what everyone else says and thinks that threatens her feelings for for him/their relationship for the sake of him/them being together |

i like darksky48's take on the song, i understand how that's percieved. My take on it is that the singer is in a relationship with a girl named Jane, but there are some deep problems. He can never tell what shes thinking because he's never really sure of what she truely thinks of him anymore - trying to find where he fits into her life since she doesnt even seem to feel anymore and doesnt like to reveal how how she is feeling. it seems like she doesnt love him as much as he loves her, and he searches desperately for an answer exhausting resource after resource. He feels like he will break, but he still keeps searching... |
